Why not just get a Z06?

I mean it has the LS7 in it plus a radio, lighter, and all the creature comforts...true it costs more but ...no intention to make an argument. Just saying.

some people like Camaro's better than Corvette's. As simple as that. Also, a Z06 starts at 76k MSRP. My guess on the Z/28 will be less than what the ZL1 costs because of the lack of all the creature comforts.

C6 Interiors Are Old And Boring. My Main Reason

ShnOmac 03-27-2013 01:32 PM

Because it's not a Camaro.

87GNX 03-27-2013 01:34 PM

Ok fair enough. How much will it cost in y'alls opinion?

Frid 03-27-2013 01:36 PM

I'm betting around $50,000

$49-50k

87GNX 03-27-2013 01:41 PM

I'm going to say around 58k with ttl, gas guzzler tax, and some mark up like gt 500 has.

motorhead 03-27-2013 01:42 PM

Love the Z06 ,but I like being able to haul the wife and kid once and awhile. Plus this car is freaking awesome looking.

lbls1 03-27-2013 01:44 PM

There's nothing quite like a new car.....that's the main counterpoint imo.

halo8hkk 03-27-2013 01:58 PM

the majority of camaro owners cant afford a $70k plus car. hell even the ZL1 is pushing it for me and i make a decent living. the camaro has allwase been the poor mans corvette.

Not anymore.
Seeing the stickers recently on what they want for special cars down here the z is gonna be well over 60 and stripped.

ZL1 hard tops sell for 70k sticker down here

Yeah, I'm going to co-sign on that. From GM: "The Camaro Z/28 features the very best, race-proven technology on the market, including carbon brakes, spool-valve dampers, and the hand-built LS7 V8 engine. As such, the Z/28 will be positioned above the ZL1. Specific information on the Camaro Z/28 price and allocation process will be shared with you later this year."

toehead93 03-27-2013 02:20 PM

We shall see, seems far fetched for the Z28 sticker to start higher then the ZL1 for me. But I could be wrong. The MSRP starts at $54,350 for the ZL1.

Supercamaro64 03-27-2013 02:20 PM

As awesome as the corvette is, Im a camaro guy. I like camaros more, therefore i would get the camaro, even if it is slower, heavier, and even if it was gonna cost more (although i reeeally doubt it.)

Blue17CamaroZL1 03-27-2013 02:25 PM

We got a Corvette 427, not a Z06.

SC2150 03-27-2013 02:31 PM

No back seats in the vette, not as family friendly. Vette Z06 is an all out super car also with tons of performance advantages.

The LS7 doesn't have a gas guzzler tax...

Haul the kids around? You'll probably opt for the AC then lol

GEN-IV 03-27-2013 04:19 PM

Not a fan of Corvettes, or the people that own them.

CamaroTom 03-27-2013 04:23 PM

The 2014 Z28 will start around way above 60k with all those special goodies. Mark my words...

The only part I don't like is they took the radio(or most if it) out. Why? How much could that make a difference in weight?

No A/C for me. I didn't have it in any car when I grew up and I own an HVAC business.

Kid won't be in it much. Sunday drives to eat, to the park, you know, that type of thing.

That isn"t my biggest reason. I love the Idea of no supercharger to heatsoak and I love the looks better than any car that I've seen in a very long time. I can't stop staring at the pictures.

dixonk 03-27-2013 04:36 PM

The problem with owning a vette (yes I've owned one) is that you get some pretty silly questions when driving it. My all time favorite is people asking me is it my dad's...I'm in my 30's :/

The other downside is the lack of backseat. Still having kids in the house and errands to run the backseat really comes in handy.

Lastly when I owned the corvette I didn't find myself constantly doing double takes walking away from it like I do with the Camaro. The Camaro is pure sex on wheels!

sanjosebmx 03-27-2013 05:21 PM

'cause it's a Z/28

/end topic

360ss 03-27-2013 06:14 PM

Agreed

That's why I have 4 other cars . I'm enjoying the moment

360ss 03-27-2013 06:20 PM

It's not a muscle car

its grandpas car

moserbe 03-27-2013 06:25 PM

I like having the option of taking more than 1 person in the car. I have owned Corvettes and still have 1. But passenger space is limited to only 1.

daveagogo1 03-27-2013 06:29 PM

Because it's a Corvette and some of us don't want a Corvette.

fredl11 03-27-2013 06:31 PM

Ditto

bkscott 03-27-2013 06:31 PM

Those Carbon Ceramic Brakes are gonna be $$$$$$$$$$.

mr02Z/28 03-27-2013 06:34 PM

I like the Camaro and I like 4 seats !!!!!!

Bradl1982 03-27-2013 08:35 PM

$70k?!?!?!? I would buy a 08-09 Z06 over it any day and save $10-20K

<--used to be a camaro guy until I drove a vette

It barely avoided it in the Corvette, which is smaller, lighter & has taller gearing. Chances that the Z/28 will avoid it are slim to nil.

To get a new Z06 you are going to have to find a dealership with one sitting on the lot since they stopped building C6's at the beginning of the month.

Liam 03-30-2013 01:15 AM

Why not just get a 1987 buick gnx...oh, wait...you already did.

The ZL1 Convertible MSRP starts at $59,545!!

I would say the Z/28 MSRP would be around $65,000-$70,000!!
