Trunk won't open?
The trunk button on the door will not open the trunk when sitting a Idle.:iono:
I drop my daughter off at school and her stuff (backpack, violin case) is in the trunk. My old 2010 SS did (open the trunk when sitting at idle), but not the ZL1 - is this an irrevocable safety feature or can I change a setting in Config? I've had to turn off the car to open the trunk - this is obviously annoying. :mad0260: Otherwise, I'll have to accommodate by putting her stuff in the back seat. :mad0259: |
Pretty sure its a new safety feature. What year was your SS?

did you try pulling ebrake? I dont know if that will work but it might

just tried it even in gear with my foot on the clutch and the ebrake pulled it will open (this was just an excuse to hear it run)

Closs is right. Pull up the parking brake and the trunk should open...at least on my 2012 manual. Took me awhile to figure that one out!
Also, if my DRLs are on, pulling up the parking brake turns turns off the DRLs...go figure. :iono: |

its to prevent people escaping when you hit a traffic light. :paddle:

Not a new feature. Even third gens and fourth gens are made this way. Auto must in park or manual the e-brake must be on. So you can't pop the trunk (or hatch in older cars) while rolling down the road.
