They are painted. I got the opportunity to see them in person. Very smooth finish.

They still have yet to weigh those, but he did say the 20X11 is only 1 to 1.5 lbs heavier than the stock ZL1 11" wide wheel (which is 30 lbs)...which means it is already a tad lighter than the stock front SS/RS wheel which is 32 lbs. The rear stock SS/RS wheels are 36 lbs.

So the 9" and 10" wide versions should be significant weight savings over stock, and I'm super excited about that.

I'm giddy thinking about the weight savings over the 21 inch gm wheels.

But I think you are wrong KMPrenger:pout:

The 20 RS wheels are 30 and 32 pounds.

The tires are 32 in front and 36 in back.

Yes, I am excited!!!

The finish of our painted wheels is a 3 stage process.
  • stage 1 - base coat (primer) powder paint
  • stage 2 color coat liquid paint
  • stage 3 clear coat powder paint
We use a liquid color coat because it provides a smoother and deeper looking finish than powder paint.

Woops...you are exactly right!

Oh wells...still should save a couple lbs per wheel in the front and 4+ lbs per wheel in the rear. I'll take it!

1sikss 05-06-2013 02:15 PM

would the 20x10 wit a 285 35 stick out a little in the front?.. idk why i think its a little wide even on the zl1 not that it looks ugly but i want the back to be the only wide rim/tire.. but i way the 285 35 i fell the 275 40 is too big

What kind of casting process is used? I do a lot of road racing, and gravity casting is not my favorite choice.

The wheel is casting method is low pressure. None of our wheels are gravity cast.

I have updated the pictures at the beginning of the thread with actual Chrome, Poilshed and Gloss Black Pictures.

chicagobulls 05-06-2013 06:12 PM

Wow the Gloss black and chrome look sexy. I honestly just had an orgasm.

KMPrenger 05-06-2013 06:20 PM

Wow they look AMAZING.

14lbs of rotating mass lost over stock (SS/RS rims) with 9" wide all around...call me happy!

I guess all there is left to see is these puppies on an actual Camaro. Bring it on.

chicagobulls 05-06-2013 06:31 PM

Hey Doug,

You should put some of these on a Camaro and just shoot some pics.

It would definitley help some more customers make up their mind to get these.

I wish I could, as soon as I have the wheels I will. Right now I have 1 wheel in each finish.

chicagobulls 05-06-2013 06:45 PM

Oh my bad doug, I thought you had a set.

These are powdercoated, that is great to hear!
