Order: Alright guys and girls I am finally getting around to writing my member journal after almost 3 years  but better late than never. Let me start off by saying that my Camaro was basically my dream car everything I wanted and more than I needed. Like most people on this site I was basically in love when I saw the prototype in Transformers back in 2007. Lets get back to the story though. My Camaro story begins when I was 13-14 and my dad made a deal with me that if I kept up my grades in school and learned to work and rebuild a car by reading the Hanes manual for a ’79 Trans Am that he would buy one and we would rebuild it and it would be my first car. So as time went on I read through the book and started to help my dad in any way I could when he was working on the cars to learn from him. But as the Camaro neared production and they actually had production models in international shows I knew I had to go see one. Needles to say I jumped on the internet and the closest show that was going to have a new Camaro in would be the Atlanta auto show 5 hours from where I live. That was about in ’09 and I had just turned 15 so of course I was trying to convince my dad that the Camaro was the car for me. That day I saw two Camaros a base model LS and a 2SS both SIM. I just feel in love. I felt very comfortable in the LS and knew it was going to be a great car. Now jump in time to June of ’09 My order was placed and the dreaded wait began. Which for me was only 3 months and at the time that was not to bad. My camaro was officially born on August 17 2009 and is number 36,498 produced Delivery: I officially took delivery of my Rally Yellow 2010 2LT/RS Camaro on September 5th 2009. But that was not the first time I saw my car. The day before the stripes were going to be installed and our sales man was able to get me in for a sneak peak. It was love at first site. Since I have taken delivery I have taken tremendous care of my Camaro babying it at every corner. I am truly grateful for what I have been blessed with and will never take it for granted. I hope one day I can do the same for my kids. Mods: So of course who buys such a nice car and doesn’t mod it. My moding is very basic at this point because a recent high school grad with no job I don’t really have the funds to support it. But slowly I am getting the Camaro to a way that it truly is mine. So I know it was been a while since this thread has been updated and now that I actually have some more mods coming in i thought it was the right time.
Since last time i have removed the Camaro Letters from my windshield and got my MRTs V2 Which i love. They have the sound i was looking for and i have gotten a ton of compliments on them. I do have drone on the highway in the 70MPH area. Doesnt bug me that much though Here are some pictures of what my car looks like currently http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps292f60e5.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...psc7c48b9a.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...psc15888be.jpg And some pictures of my V2s http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...c58449bf4b.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...6c4b3a8a60.jpg |
So the first weekend of March marked the second annual Sunshine State Rally and i had a blast going down there. And on top of all the fun Bee was able to bring in 1st Place for 2010 V6s  Very happy to have won especially that this was my first time ever getting judged
Dont mind the bad pictures of the trophy on the engine. It was very windy that day and i could only place it there take a quick picture before it fell over and possibly break or scratch a neighboring car :yikes: :smiling1: http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps9a3a5839.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps9eb1f0f8.jpg Also here are a few random pictures of my car during the Rally http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps9c960a46.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps1801482e.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps0e4041b4.jpg |
nice think both our cars where made on the same line my Vin is close to yours... :confused0068: :clap2: :happy0180: :eyebulge:

Now while at the rally I did get a great price on my Hotchkis Strut Tower Brace thanks to Erik over at Torq. Took a while longer to install that i thought and was much more work that i had planned for but over all i like the brace and i feel a difference while going through some curves at higher speeds. The Car feels much more planted and stable in my opinion.
Here are some pictures http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps021a368e.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps14da2b9b.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...psca203745.jpg |
Now I did have the Rx Catch Can but for some reason my car was running rich and even experiencing some suddle misfires. Nothing that tripped a CEL but i could feel them while at a light. So Tracy being the Stand up guy he is stepped up to the plate offered multiple ways to help out and even offering a complete refund. After several months with the same issue I took him up on his offer for the refund and got the Elite Can from Apex. Ultimately what made me choose this can is the draining method. I personally prefer this over the Rx can but I am not trying to turn down any products. I guess i will find in time if the Elite will trap the oil like the Rx can.
Here is a pictures of the Elite Can installed. http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps0dd53957.jpg |
Got some new rotors and pads coming in soon. Been wanting this for while since the V6s breaks suck when compared to that of the SS.

Next round of mods started to come in. Just recieved my R1 e-line drilled and slotted rotors and just waiting on my hawk pads. Will be busy for the next couple of weeks so I won't be able to install them till about the second or third week of April :pout:

So since i havent had any mods in a while and since i am also still waiting on my Hawk pads to come in i thought i would give this build thread some life with my recent Adams Purchase. I took the plunge with their spring sale and ordered almost everything i will need to correct my paint and get it looking amazing.
Heres a picture of all of the products. I can't wait till i can get this done. But I will wait for the pollen to be gone before i do it. http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...psebb43240.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps742b8b5f.jpg |
So just earlier today i was wondering where my Hawk HPS pads where since i didnt have a tracking number and to my surprise they were at my door when i got home so now i am all ready for my Pads and Rotors install. Now i just need to find the time
http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps98a13b1b.jpg |
So today I was able to get my R1 Rotors and Hawk HPS Pads installed. Took a little over an Hour and a Half form start to finish. I made sure to really heat up the pads once they were in to make sure i had no problems in the future with noise and to make sure they were Burnished well into the rotors. I actually could smell the pads and even saw a little amount of smoke. As of right now with the little bit i have driven i can definitely tell that it stops much quicker and the pedal definitely has a tougher and nicer feel to it. All in all I am very glad that I did this mod and I am much more confident with the breaking of the car now.
Here are some pictures: http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps9a13eeab.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps63438fb6.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...psb8652314.jpg http://i959.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps056d2327.jpg |
Those rotors look GREAT. Adding this to my next round of mods. Regardless how much brake is left on my stock set-up. New rotors and pads. Thanks for the write-ups.
|
Everything looks great! And the rotors make a huge difference!

|

Also I went to go and find the paint and primer for my manifold in town and wasn't able to find anything I needed in town so I think i might just save up and go the powder coat route. Still thinking about it since I might do a ported manifold in the future |
