Exactly Why I'm Buying a Camaro

To piss off idiots like this guy.

The last muscle car
Sexy as a swollen porn star on meth, twice as useless

Have you seen this thing? This sexy macho bloated Hot Wheels fantasia dreamgasm of a car-like drunken child's funbot crayon sketch?

No? Because it appears to be a vehicle that at least some across the Big Autosphere are still secretly praying, despite the sudden overthrow of -- despite the deadly ultimatum for -- General Motors, might yet prove to be a savior.

Indeed, it's a car some hope will maybe, just maybe sell like crazy and restore a tiny bit of faith in big, thick, meaty, rather inane American cars that have no real place in the new millennium, but which for some reason they keep building anyway, presumably because aging frat boys you should never, ever date think they're totally wickedcool and will therefore be willing to shell out 35 grand to own, unless they won't.

Am I talking about the ugly-as-a-giant-vacuum-cleaner Chevy Volt? Am I aiming this admittedly overheated verbiage at the ruddy, useless Impala? No, I am not.

I am talking about the brand new, leering, pseudo-masculine 2010 Chevrolet Camaro.

I'm guessing this toolbag thinks the Prius looks good. :paddle::paddle::barf:

Edited for better title.

Why would you write off the whole city because of one editorial?:iono: I've been several times and it's actually a fun place to go. Would you write off New York because of an editorial in the Post?

Don't bring your manual transmission car there though:

Some people just like to ruffle feathers man. There are people in the ultra-green sectors of the country that think turning your lights on in your house after sunset is a sin.

There will always be people angry that Chevy/Ford/Chrysler built muscle cars to begin with, they think this is the root of the current problem (although the real root is for example the 1980's nova, which went from a muscle car to a family piece of shit because of people like him).

Just take comfort in knowing that while he'll bitch and moan a little online. When he gets passed by one this summer, he'll be bitching and moaning even louder :D

I guess one bad apple Does spoil the whole bunch. :help:

people like him are what the f*ck is wrong with the human race.

I about went on a rant in his comments, but I'm sure he's far to conceded to ever read the opinion of what anyone else says.

What the f*ck has he done for this country? Write articles in a newspaper? He must be much more important than the company that employs hundreds of thousands of Americans.

I'm from Oakland, just across the bridge from San Francisco. Seriously, it's really not that bad of a city. There's only a small part of town where the fruit cakes reside (a place where I've happily never been to). Hell, the best car chase ever was filmed in and around San Francisco. Even you Camaro guys have gotta admit the Bullitt chase would never have been what it was without the winding roads and ridiculous hills.

The Chronicle is whack! That paper is a joke
and hes prob just pissed because the Gov. did not give them bailout
money that they asked for, and yesterday 150 people opted out for
early retirment packages, or they would have got pink slips.

That paper will fall!

This guy is nuts. I'd love to ask him to back up where he said reviews of the Camaro were "somewhere between lukewarm and "Holy crap, this thing sucks far, far more than it should, especially the cramped, stifling interior. And the handling. And the brakes. And the build quality."

ORLY?! Yes the lukewarm review was from Jalopnik, but that was by far the fluke review in terms of negativity. Nowhere aside from a Dodge/Ford fanboy ranting (and I am not insulting the companies or patrons of said companies, just those few people, you know what I mean) have there been such negative reviews. This guy is just on a soapbox, he has no objective criticism or evidence to back up any of his ridiculous claims.

Oh, and "Chevy was resurrecting this rolling mullet from the mausoleum of the '70s", were they? I guess that means they weren't making them in the year 2000?? Ok that's all I can say without starting to cuss.

Yeah, I was going to comment on that first quote. Where did he get the quote from? Brilliant journalism; no sources referenced. And you must be on crack to say it has bad brakes, its got 14" BREMBOS. This guy should stick to maple syrup production or something.

Nope even worse, end of the article he says we should be looking at the "Bluecar" instead.

http://www.bluecar.fr/en/pages-accueil/default.aspx

Reading that article actually made me very angry. If you go check his archives, he pretty much writes garbage for a living.
