Here is a challenge for everyone. Post up pics you think prove you had the best Saturday Camaro5 style Saturday (6/23/12) along with any comments to describe what went on. Ruby will go first 'cause I think mine was pretty good. I will post pics in stages as I have a ton of them. Feel free to post yours in-between. For now this will just be viewers choice by comments but if enough folks post maybe we will add a poll. I just thought this would be fun. (especially since our local clubs went in two different directions this weekend). Here are the first teaser pics:

Payne Chevrolet had their annual Camaro Homecoming to coincide with the grand re-opening of their newly expanded/renovated showroom & service bay areas. It was a great turnout especially since it was competing with the Somernights Fbody event in Somerset, KY. It was a pretty hot day but the large overhang of the showroom was a great shady place to set up chairs and the showroom was there to retreat to if you still got too hot. The local credit union was there giving away $25 gift cards every hour and a radio station was letting folks register to win tickets to the Brothers of the Sun Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw Concert at LP Field (Titans stadium) as well as letting folks roll huge dice to win various CD's. Payne was providing free (yummy) hamburgers, chips & ice water. There were a couple of out local car collectors there with their Camaro collections one including a 5th Gen convertable and 3 classic Camaros & the other with his ZL1 & 3 classic Camaros. The ZL1 was nice but I must say I felt sorry for it. It is the extreme garage queen. No plastic her been removed from the interior & some say it has never even been fired up since delivery. It was trailored in. Several of our club members also graced the event with their presence and their very nice Camaros. The event ended with the drawing for the concert tickets and sadly none of us won..............but......................one of the winners walked up to where we were standing & asked if anyone wanted his tickets. All of us raised our hands & he handed them to me! Then there was a lady from the Credit union who had a small die cast RJT Camaro on her display 1/20 scale). I asked her about it & she said she got it at the local Dollar General store for $10. I planned to visit every Dollar store in town & other towns to try to find one as I don't have one that scale. At the end of the day, she walked over & gave hers to me! Here is a pic of me ready to go to the concert with my treasures from the day. along with some individual pics of some of the nice Camaros at the show.

There were casr coming & going all day & it was easy to lose track of which you had snapped a pic of & which you had not. Coming next, pics of the concert. Yeah, I know, not camaro pics but..........part of my good C5 day since I got the free tickets at the car show.

Here is a pic of my take home from the car show. Concert pics later. Break time now. One more very cool thing about the day was this, a local web based news site did videos of each attendee (who was willing) showing and telling about their car(s). I will add these videos as soon as son as they are uploaded. That was fun.

Okay so who thinks your day was better?

That is was! Okay, I am no music snob, I find there is good & bad music in all genres. But, I will readily admit in recent years I have not really followed the country music scene. That said, being from the middle Tennessee area, you can't help but be familiar with some of country's biggest stars. Of course I knew who Kenny Chesney & Tim McGraw were & recognized some of their songs, but may not have been able to name one off the top of my head if asked. I was aware this huge concert was going to be in town since local news had made a big deal out of the fact that the interstate bridge construction that has been snarling traffic every weekend would not be going on this weekend because of this concert. It did appear to be a sell out or nearly so. At any rate it was a nice set of tickets to get for free. It was crazy hot when we first got there. At least 6 folks had already been taken out by ambulance for heat related issues (or combination heat & alcohol consumption). We did not arrive at the 4:40 start time and when we did arrive just found our seats then stood around under the breezeways through the opening acts. It was still quite hot when the concert began in earnest, but bearable. Mike said this was a much better chick watching event than the concerts we usually frequent. I bet those chicks in their cowbow boots were miserable between the long walk to & through the stadium & the heat. I have much better boots than any I saw, but was not dumb enough to wear them. I am not sure if all the guests we saw appeared in all the other venues or just in Nashville but I'm pretty sure the happy birthday wish & song accompanied by a local marching bans & with a guitar shaped cake was unique to this venue. So then here are a few pics from the Brothers of the Sun, Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw Concert at LP Field (Titans stadium).

By the way,..............this is what Mike watched throughout most of the concert. They rarely sat down & danced through much of the concert. I guess Ms. Ruby will have to go shopping for some lace bootie shorts huh? The only thing that saved him from being smacked in the back of the head were the compliments he had been more than generous with giving me (which is RARE from him) all day.

Videos to come as soon as they are available. Okay everyone else, let's see YOUR weekend in pics!
