any tips

Id like some advice. Ive never bought a new car from a dealer and would like some help with a few questions.

I am going this friday to purchase my new 2013 Camaro LS. (pretty stoked)

So on the chevy site im debating wether or not i should do the options. I really dig the halo lights as they look perfect for the camaro, but they are only offered with the RS package. I really could care less for the rims, (i already like the black steelies that come with it stock), so my question is, is this package worth it? or is there somewhere else i can get the exact same headlights somewhere else for much cheaper?

Also i really dig the headunit with nav. but thats only available in the LT and above, which is 2k more :/. Any suggestions on that? Is the head unit really all that great or can i also buy one else where?

Also (last question),
any tips on getting a lower price?
I am going to try the Costco member deal thing, but is there any other things i can do to get a lower price? any secret words or any advice on what to say to the dealer?

Thank you very much for your help!

Also whats a good percent of interest? My credit is really good. Also my moms (im 21 barely) so she is going to help me with her credit. Should she be the the co signer or i? (she has better credit?) i want to get the lowest payments per month with really low Interest.

thanks again

I'll give it a shot. I ordered my 1LT and I absolutely had to have the RS package. The myLink is kinda the reason why I got the LT (that and the fact that you can only get the RS package on 1LT models and above) I'm not sure about aftermarket halos, so I can't help you on that but try talking the dealer to see if you can get the RS without the rims (assuming you get 1LT) maybe they'll throw something in for free or something. About the price, tell them to get you below the invoice price. Let me know what they tell you about the being a Costco member. Hope I helped.

thanks! i didnt know i could get them below the invoice price. i think that with the RS package and LT the price would be 3k more. thats why im a bit held back to go that direction. And yea, as soon as i get the car ill post everything i went through, through the costco deal thing.

Just remember they will always tell you BS things that make absolutely no sense for reasons they can't lower the price. If they start high, start low. Eventually a great price will be made :)

Also, remember if you don't like the mylink the 2012 models are great. That's the route I took.

eagle eyes will give you the rs look and there only like $400. and down the road you can get the metra kit(or others) and put whatever navigation dash you want in it as well. AND BAM saved you $3000

plus if you want you can get a used one for real cheap. i dont know where you live but this is california i looked up and the first 4 ls's are under $20,000 and still under the 36,000 mile warranty

My piece of advice to help reduce the price is to read about how best to get the $1000 private offer from the Chevrolet web site, and get it.

I couldn't get an offer to work, not sure why. Cleared cookies/history, but still nothing. Maybe it's gone?
