E85 and ls3.

I read this in a magazine and somewhere on the internet. " For power, the ss uses the standard ls3 6.2l engine, but it;s modified to use e85 ehtanol ( and make a few extra horses, to boot.) this was issuesed and talked about regarding the dale jr concept car.
wandering if it's just this car that was modified or what?

nothing?

I would think that there might need to be some modifications. Injectors, or some computer adjustments at the very least. You would have to pull up the tune on say HPtuners and see if there is any way to adjust for it. If your looking for more HP using E85 then you are definetly going to need bigger injectors.

no, its not E85 capable.

Says right in the owners manual not to use E85 and that it will damage the engine.

This is true, but I believe if you looked at the tune there is the ability to adjust for this kind of fuel. I remember reading somewhere(can't remember)
that this may be a possibilty. But, yes as it is you cannot use E85.

The car would have the E85 or Flexfuel badge if it was capable of running on E85.

On a political note, why would you want to use E85 gas. It's bad enough that regular fuel is mandated at 10% and soon going to 15%. It's not helping our energy independence and it's causing our food prices to rise. Not to mention the huge subsidies being paid by our government with our tax dollars. Even if the car was capable of using it I wouldn't participate in the Ethanol boondoggle.

Sorry for the rant.
