With it being rebuilt with forged internals, is 650 the most you can get safely or just the most they will warrantee? Seems like it could take a LOT more.
That's is going to be quite the car when it's done. |
Definately going to be a fun ride :)

LPE wont go over the 570 HP without doing the internals, I am sure this is for the warranty. I know you can go a lot higher but you will have to run higher than 93 octane gas to keep it together. Not much if you drive it much. |
Sweet. I'm sure it will be awesome $20k is a serious package.
|
mws, have you heard anything on the progress of your car?

I guess it is just part of being married, although she did give me the car is yours but the bathroom is all of ours. I guess I am lucky she lets me indulge my car passion and will actually enjoy some of it with me. Just hope I can stay out of the kitchen remodeling business. :sm0: |

Ryan has been really cool about all of my changes, LPE are a great bunch of guys to deal with, they even had my windows tinted while it was up there. |
For what all is included it's not that bad of a price. I would just expect more power out of a setup like that.

nice

This is for sure the way to do it if you desire boost + longevity...If I had the money when I started this would have been the way I would have gone...with the 2300 and shot for 14 psi...But when you start making more power, then the rear end and tranny become issues...I know I'm probably pushing it for longevity on the tranny, you 6sp manual guys are already seeing some of that stuff. We have heard rumors the rear is good to 600rwhp, but a shortblock like LPE is mentioning with a 2300 at 12-14psi would be WELL past that...if you want to run with the GT500's this is what you MUST do, but be prepared to start replacing driveline parts if you do...
...just sayin' |

I guess once we see to it the wife and kids are taken care of and set, we should enjoy ourselves a little, and horsepower is so much fun! |
Ok, guys just got off the phone with Ryan at LPE. He said they are really busy up there, too cool to think there are still a bunch of car nuts like us are pushing the envelope and going for the best in Camaro performance.:burnrubber
He said they have to get two Camaros finished for SEMA, sounds like the Camaro will be the #1 car represented there this year! Will be interesting to see just how many Camaros are going to be out :there this year. He said he is trying to get my baseline dyno sheet to me but it is in a different department so he has to wait for them to get it to them. I will post it up as soon as I get it, he also could'nt promise how many or how often but pictures will be on the way during the build.:headbang: |
Yes, I also heard that the 2010 Camaro will be "in almost every booth" at SEMA.
It is the HOT car to have right now. Will be interesting to see if it is still this popular next year at the show. The reason I am building a Camaro as opposed to a corvette is the entry price. 35K for the car + 30K upgrades = 1 corvette w/exhaust.. I think a built camaro will be more fun as it is customized and will be unique. I could never bring myself to spend 40K above the price of the 'vette. I wanted to, just could never pull the trigger on the vette upgrades. |

You an buy 1LT Corvettes now a days with rebates for 39k. So if that is the case you can get a lot of mods on a Corvette too unless that is a 26k dollar exhaust system...LOL I have had LPE cars in the past and think they are amazing though. So, I can understand why. |
Indpower said:Its a little more like, One Corvette Grand Sport 2010 (55K) plus a TT 10K.
your a little off on the TT price;) I get the idea though. Yes, a new Grand Sport and an Exhaust, or an older Corvette with lots of really cool mods. I finally paid off my 2005 corvette.. It became my deposit for the Camaro. I didn't want to start at LPE with a used car... It was a nice vette too.. I had a lot (8 or 9?) of them. It was time for something different, and I can use the back seat for the 4 year old. I always liked Camaro's.. My first car was a '67 Z/28. Wish i still had that one.. sigh..!! My little Kimberly likes daddy's Race Car. I can hear her little voice now...Go faster daddy! ...faster! .....FASTER!:D My own little cheering section at the racetrack! |
Nice baseline numbers mws. Looks like the log jam is breaking loose.

Ok guys, here are the pictures Ryan sent me, it looks as though they are about ready to pull the engine. My guess is by Monday that bad boy will be out of there! This is sooo cooool, watching my car through this tranformation (I know cheap pun). :headbang:
|
That is way cool mws ur car is getting naked, Did they move your car to the machine shop?
|
They pull the engine in the main shop, then send the underachiever over to the machine shop for an attitude adjustment. Should exit there as an overachieving bad-a$$ chomping at the bit to eat a few snakes.:paddle:
If I remember an old article from last years SEMA builds right they pull the engine by droping out from underneath. |

:thumbup:This is how the car sat at the end of day Friday. Looks like they are making good time on it. If you notice in one of the pictures it looks as though a certain rally yellow Camaro and truckmate to mine is in the middle of the same build. RSS-SS2 looks like the race is on!

Awesome pics mws , I would have to say that is a positive ID. It's been three weeks since I've seen her, feels good to just have a glimpse. Looks like they are shedding some weight and making good progress on those bad boys. |
