Good to see those numbers any time of year...:thumbup:

Very cool! But I wouldn't call it stock since it's been dyno-tuned.

x2...tune = not stock.

Nice run...mineshaft air that night! The barometer was over 1024mb which is great. I ran at US41 a few years ago at an event...rained like a mofo all morning, and then stayed around 40 degrees the rest of the day...we never did get the car to hook up that weekend. I let my buddy make a pass because he didn't believe it was that slick, and he nearly bounced the car off the wall, and said "never again"...lol.

BTW: he posted it in the list thread here @ c5 (click here)

yeah he's got a tune so not completely stock...but doesn't it seem that's a lil slow for a tuned ET?

Not really... I mean what would you expect? His car I believe dynoed fairly low and was a very early 2010 car... it's likely that his stock tune would have only resulted in 13.3 or 13.2 in the 1/4 in those same conditions. Not everyone has results like Pave. In fact Paves results seem to be well above ordinary. :iono:

That's a real good run. Anyone that can run in the 12s with just a tune is doing great. A tune good for .2-.3 tenths or so. So his bone stock run would be about 13.0 - 13.1 (which would be in the top 5 fastest in this forum).

Why would just a tune not be stock? Come on, it's no different than in the old school days when you might rejet the carb. It's still stock!

L99 A6 (Tune)
reduces or deletes torque managment = faster track times.
adjusts shift firmness and shift points = faster times.
increases HP and Torque = faster track times.

With a tune, most L99s are showing an increase of 20-30 ft lbs of torque throughout the rpm range.

It's still a stock engine is my point. To me it's no different than tweeking an old school engine. For instance we would adjust timing, rejet carb and put a quick shift in the tranny. It was still stock.

I consider a tune being stock, but what do I know.

Stooph 10-14-2009 07:48 PM

yeah I don't consider cars with a tune bone stock. a tune would defeat the purpose of it being stock because it essentially "helps" the car out. bone stock to me is completely untouched without any added help.

I dunno...maybe cause this isn't your carb'd car? Tuned = NOT STOCK!

I still say tuned is stock. The engine has not been modified, just tweeked. Like I said before no different than rejetting a carb, adjust timing and so forth.
