The style of the 5th gen - how long?

How long do you think the camaro will stay retro style, If you wait to long before you buy it what kind of changes will be done.

I would assume they would keep their design for anywhere from 5-10 years depending on how successful it is and how tastes and trends change. I think that the 6th gen could look like almost anything depending on again the current tastes and fashions. even though it's the camaro, GM is a company that markets it's product to sell as many models as possible and to that effect will design it in whatever way they believe will sell the most.

I agree, it will probably stay close to it's new style for 5-10 years. After that I think the retro style fad will have faded and GM will move forward with a new design.

I don't think they could get away with keeping a body style for 10 years these days. At least not without making some minor changes every year, or a major refresh after 5 to keep it fresh.

The days of a generation lasting 11 years (1970-1981),10 years (1982-1992) or 9 years (1993-2002) is gone imo.

I don't think they should last more than 7/8 years myself.

If it lasts for only 5 years it'll seem like the buildup from concept to the production 5th gen was almost as long as it lasts in production :bonk:

I think seven our eight years. As long as tey don't go with Saabs insane keep a model the same for ten years plan.

I think the clock is already ticking on the style...and it hasn't even been released yet. I'd say 5 years before they redesign it.

Get one while you can

If history repeats itself, THIS style Camaro will be better than the next ones, so I would be sure to get one while you can.

(I don't think they plan on making the 6th gen look like a 1970 Camaro. But if they did ? Hmmm. I'm just getting theh 5th gen before everything goes downhill.)

I wouldn't assume this design will last that long. If they change the design BEFORE you were ready to buy, you might have to settle for a used one.

this is the only reason I am buying one.

(And don't forget that all of a sudden the government can ban these kinds of cars. ya never know!)

One thing I can Guarantee. The next design will become much more aerodynamic. And that's not to say that this one insn't - quite the contrary.

EDIT: And I still say it's not retro...;)

Prolly 5 years, but I don't think it will be a major change. I think something progressive like the 97-98 changes in the 4th Gen. I think they will gradually bring it from the retro style to a completely contemporary style.

It's not retro!!!!!!!!!!!! :bangdesk:

Most cars get redesigned in 4-8 years.

I love the early 2nd gen. Absolutely beautiful. After '72 or '73 it started going downhill. 4th gen styling was the worst, imho.

I couldn't stand the 70's. Starting with 1970. I liked the iroc, didn't like the 94's but liked the 2002's. The SS fin and the new lights were the key thing.
