Planning to order this week....When can I expect my car to be built and shipped???

Finally, I think I'm going to be able to order my Camaro this week. :happyanim: I got an insurance quote and stopped by the dealer I bought my truck from. I asked him if I order it now when can I expect it to be built? He said "late summer, early fall". What kind of an answer is that??? That's like a 2 month range!!! Anyone else order recently and get a more specific time frame??

that's pretty much the long and short of it... you could be as early as end of may, early june to july-september. it all depends on what you order (constrained items) your dealer's allocation...and your spot in that line, and production rate.

(just do it already)

+1

That's about all the info you're gonna get. Nobody knows.

So even after I place it I won't get a better time frame?

I know, I've been going crazy waiting to order this thing!!!!!!:bellyroll: But had to make sure layoff's weren't happening. Now that GM offers that plan to pick up the car payments my mind is a bit more at ease. I'd be a wreck if I got then lost it :cry:

Keep in mind this is a 2010 model, not a 2009. The only way to get one relatively soon would be to build a time machine and go back to October 13, 2008 to preorder like most on the board have done.

The preorders will be hitting the streets within the next month or two. There are an estimated 14,000 preorders to be built, plus another couple thousand demo cars for the dealers to draw people into the showroom. To expect to order it now and expect it in a couple of weeks....sorry, that ship left the dock back in October.

To order now and get a 2010 model in late summer of 2009 is not a bad deal...usually you would have to wait until mid fall when all the other 2010 models hit the streets.

nope! i've got my order sheet right in front of me...its got my status at 1100
Estimated Delivery is blank. i'm in the same boat, man- i secured (deposit) my spot on the allocation list on the 28th with my dealer. at lunch today i placed the order. its the glass half full glass half empty approach. i just bit the bullet and said i'm gonna do it. if i lose my job, then i'll deal with that when it happens. if not, i've got one badass car coming my way...eventually. if the car comes early and i get the total confidence package--sweet. if it comes later, i hope they extend it!!!

Same exact story here. I am not holding my breath though. From the looks of how they are pulling orders, who knows.

EAkrish 04-07-2009 03:02 PM

well based on some other threads i've read on here, this 60-75 day wait seems about accurate

That's a lot better than the response I got! I may try a few other dealers and see what they are saying before I order from this guy.

Where'd you order from in FL that is telling you that? I'm calling shenanigans... no way you ordered that recently and get the car that soon (unless you paid a markup or something). Your order would have to be submitted to production basically now to get it then.

I also ordered April 4th and they told me it should be here end of May or June.
