EDIT: I'm really not judging, just frustrated that I don't understand the mentality.

We all were so enamored with the Concept's gas cap design that we're in denial about the production version. We refuse to believe that the Camaros we will be driving will have anything but the Concept's gas cap. Therefore, no amount of suggestion can convince us until we A) See it with our own eyes, or B) Hear it from someone that we know has correct information (i.e. Scott, Bob, Ed, John, or someone who's taken pictures of a prototype).

I love it where it is and pray it stays up top!!!! The photoshop only thread has a couple pix of the gas cap on side shots that Dragoneye did. It just doesn't look the same. The race inspired look is what gets me. It's different. It's not the same old gas cap I have now.

you know there is a proving ground out here in Arizona. i work with a girl who dad works out there. if it ends up here i will let you all know

I just dont want the gas cap on the side! It would make it look like all the other cars out there. I want different, concept type, race inspired, new, bold, DIFFERENT!!! Come on Scott keep it on top!!! Thats where it looks best, that is where it belongs!

It looks like the backup lights are still in the bumper. :mad0259:

Roflmao 01-29-2008 05:10 PM

If these are the cars from australia that were in the other photos, then wouldn't the same details show on them? Or do they alter the mules as they go? (BTW this is not directed soley at sbg, but anyone and everyone who would know)

Great pictures and welcome to the Forum...

:offtopic: and for all those so worried about the gas cap location, I have some insider news.....it is going to be under a little flap next to the hood, like the Family Truxter in National Lampoon's "Vacation" :bonk:

Seriously, It's only a Gas cap.. Not like it's the most important part of the car. besides, the location that is on top of the fender is very bad, especially if this car will be a flex fuel car, any spillage onto the paint will not be good. Ethanol is detrimental to paint.
Now everyone slowly count to 10 and repeat, "It's only a gas cap...It's only a gas cap... It's only a gas cap"

Fair point. But I don't think its gonna go too far roun here.

That's a good point...Australia to LAX fits the equation better than Europe...

ditto this again.. to my knowledge they were here not too long ago so it would make sense.... Plus they are built on a Holden Australia Designed ZETA platform.... Just like the new G8 thats heading your way!

Taking 680 North from San Mateo (where I live), after crossing the bridge, stay on 680 as opposed to 780 and you travel off to the right along the marsh (where all the old navy ships are). There's a giant parking lot looking thing. This is where the newly imported cars are stored before they're shipped to dealers state/nationwide. You might catch some shots there this weekend. Someone a while back said it was on the 28th that they'd be arriving, but I thought it was by boat to the SF port like production models. Since it's a prototype I doubt it will be in that parking lot over there as that's models to be shipped somewhere.

Well maybe a little, but since I can't tell you about the SUPER cool stuff that you don't know about, I can at least tell you when you're getting all excited about nothing! (Or maybe I'm just helping GM hide the coolest filler door EVER from you!)
