Tint Question

I've had my 2012 SS for just over a month and am loving it. My parking situation at work has changed where I'm no longer in a covered garage but on the top level of a garage. Plus side is that no one ever parks beside me since there are lots of spots. Down side is the exposure to the elements. I"m on a waiting list for a covered spot but in the mean time I want to get my windows tinted. There seem to be lots of options as far as the type of tint available. I want them as dark as legally possible. Does anyone know which tint is better at reducing heat as well as protecting the interior? Any advice greatly appreciated.

google the tint laws in your state.

Ours is 35% all the way around in illinois.

3M Crystalline tint is very good at reducing heat/UV/glare. I've got it and it definitely works.

I've had 5% tint on all my cars and I swear its hot as balls inside the car regardless

Had ours done with 35% on the doors, 18% rear quarter windows and back glass. Per the wife, it's her driver, it's still warm inside, but nearly as bad as it could be without. She noticed the difference right away. Mind you, we have had over 50+days of 90 degrees or more of heat.
