Info on the Vararam for the 2012 models

Just spoke to Steve at Vararam and he stated they were just in a meeting with the molders about building the intake for the 12 camaro. He stated its still gonna be a couple of months before its ready and on the market tho. Just thought I'd share this info with you guys.

You guys have apparently never heard of how long it took to get the 2010/2011 version out the door, did you? :sm0:

I know man!! But I'll wait if they can create the same performance they have out of the 2010, 2011 versions!

Don't feel bad...us early adopters waiting a very very long time for the first version. If I had to give advice...its not to get to caught up in waiting for this thing to come out. It will take time and lots of it, but if they can get it to perform like the 2010, 2011s, then it will be a great product.

2010/2011 was an entirely new package. All they had to do to make the Vararam work on the 2012 was make the MAF opening a little larger to accept the new MAF -- it's not like they were redesigning the whole thing.

Wrong. The 2010/2011 models do not have a radiator cap directly in the middle of the top of the radiator, unlike the 2012's.

Vararam has to completely redo the V6 intake for the 2012 LFX...

This isn't going to work on a 2012 with that radiator cap location...

My bad - I did forget about the radiator cap. Definitely a bit more work to go around the radiator cap.

Update on 2012 Vararam Camaro

2012 Camaro Caramo Vararam intake update:

Vararam is pleased to report that our test units have almost completed their 12,000 mile test cycle.

All Vararam products must pass this basic test cycle before production can begin.
Vararam products are always tested to failure in varying conditions, while running out to a minimum of 12,000 miles .
This allows us to check for part fatigue in a wider range of conditions. This also ensures that we provide the highest quality product available with OEM reliability while delivering that legendary Vararam real world performance.

For the 2012 Camaro we have been in the unusual position of creating two versions for the same application. Both have proven to offer similar performance.
We are currently fine tuning the "look" and installation of each system.
Each system has been developed for performance, drivability ,ease of installation and show presentation.

The systems are being put head to head against each other every day. The unit that is consistently the best , will go into production.

We appreciate our customers patience while we wrap up our final tests.

We will update you again, later next week with a more specific time, we are very close at this point. We may be able to post up some pictures at that time.
