What Kind Of Line Lock For The ZL1

I have read some threads here about some of you using a line lock on your ZL1's. I would really like to have one so I need some input on which one to use and how hard the install is. Thanks

Just installed mine this weekend. Took about 1.5 hours. Used a lift though and changed the brake fluid to DOT 4 and bleed the entire system. Works awesome!

I used the hurst and the switchlink and a custom console switch panel. It is slick and very hidden! No leaks either...

Cool! So the switch panel you used do you have a toggle switch or a button? Was it necessary to change to DOT4 brake fluid? Please explain why. Sorry to ask these questions but I want to do mine right like you did the first time. Thanks

No worries. I can get you some pictures on Wednesday.

The hurst line lock is the one for 2010-2014 camaros.
It mounts under the brake reservoir on the firewall (drivers side) and is barely visible.

The console switch panel is made by emblem pros and is the monster switch panel. Custom made for me. It is awesome and has a rocker switch for arming the line lock along with switches for the fans and pump.

The switchlink allows the cruise control button to act as a second arming switch and makes the cruise control cancel button on the steering wheel the momentary activation switch. You can still use the cruise control also. (Just not with the line lock activated obviously)

No issues with my dashlogic either. Just have to do burnouts with the exhaust flaps closed.

I did the wiring myself and everything is fused, heat shrunk and wrapped. No holes at all in the car were required!

I'll get pictures or maybe a video on Wednesday.

Just google what I wrote above and it should all come up.

Other people may recommend other line locks for various reasons. I'm sure they are all nice and do the job.
Just remember not to over tighten the flare fittings to avoid leaks and I picked the hurst because it didn't require cutting any brake lines.

I switched to DOT 4 just because I could and GM recommends it (especially on the Z28) if you intend on tracking the car. More resistance to heat.

I believe I want the hurst and not cutting any brake lines is a big plus.I would not want it if I had to do that. Thanks. Just pm me those pics if you would so I can reference them quick if I needed to.

3 Attachment(s)
SJM makes a Hurst kit that has all the brake lines already bent and ready to install.
Instructions on where to mount.
But I too like the Pro Emblem switch board, great item for extras in the future too.

Sorry it took so long. I took the pics but lost my phone. Had to re-take some more. I'll PM them to you as well.

So far it has worked flawlessly. The car has no holes drilled in it (including the interior) and no leaks. It is about has hidden as possible I think.

The fans (both on medium) and the intercooler pump (comp switch) are wired to the switches. (Aux is a spare) They work great at the track to keep the temps down as much as possible between runs and they also light up when the computer brings on the fans or pump so I can see when this is happening just driving around normally.

It's an emblem pros monster switch panel. It is in the console and I still have all the cup holders. It's awesome! They are great people too!
