LS3 Heads? Which ones?

I recently had a TSP cam package installed and my next mod looks like a nice head package. Im leaning towards goin through TSP and getting the PRC heads, they seem to offer a good price and nice gains. Im still open to other options. Tryin to research what is best for me, any thoughts will help from members and vendors. Thanks

My goal as of now is to have a lil over 500 at the wheels. I am thinkin Meziere water pump, possibly Fast intake or possibly have the stock unit ported and heads. Do you guys think this combo will make my goal?

For the price I don't think you can beat the TSP/PRC heads. Mast also makes great heads IMO.

With that cam and the electric water pump it should be close, but even if you don't reach 500 or more, that cam should still provide a nice broad power band to be very happy with.

MAST Motorsports has the best LS3 cylinder head package out there.

New Era did over 500 with a stall and a mid-size camshaft. Capable of well over 500 with a stick.

I was in the same boat as you last week. Im near 450 now and was gonna order the new PRC aftermarket casting LS 3 heads from TSP and a FAST 102 intake with NW 102 TB. I took the advice of SNLPerformance to just bite the bullet and throw on a Procharger D1 with dual fuel pumps. I think i would have been just short of 500 with the heads and intake. Now i am looking at 600+ easily. Good luck, i think the aftermarket casting heads are supposed to be good for about 30 or so with your cam and headers. How much the FAST intake and NW 102 would have added, maybe another 6 to 9:iono:

I met Jim Eskridge at the Good Guys Hot Rod show at the Indy Motor Speedway this weekend. His 2010 won this years best of show at Camaro Superfest in MI. He was set up with a port and polish, heads from American Racing, a CIA, FAST intake, a tune and a little more but..... He was pushing 510 rwhp. (side note: his 2010 was 36th off the line and had one of the only factory installed Hurst short shifters. was pretty cool.) ne way he was telling me he had tried 3 or 4 different sets of headers and American Racing gave him the best quality and gain. He was super nice to talk to and very informative.

If your goal is 500rwhp just bite the bullet and get the Mast heads. Also talk to Jason at TSP about there new PRC Ls7 small bore castings I think they are starting to ship them.

Kaler. Are u not to crazy about prc? I spoke to tsp about the new heads. It's just hard to drop 2300 on heads alone.

scoggin dickey cnc heads did very good in the hot rod mag. test.

I'm happy with the PRC CNC'ed heads. What I'm saying is if 500rwhp is the end all be all for you the Mast heads will get it done $$.I have not seen any data or info on the new TSP small bore LS7 heads, they may also get you there. The PRC CNC'ed heads with every trick in the book throw at it EW,UP,Ported intake etc. May get you there but the most important factor will be the dyno that is used.

Reher Morrison Racing Engines out of Arlington is now in the LS3 game, and for anyone that knows professional cylinder heads would know Darin Morgan probably put out a stout piece. I'm curious to see if anyone chooses these to run, out the door around $1800 with LS3 valves.

Yup - Darin is way ahead of the curve when it comes to ported LS3 heads.

I don't know Darin personally but I know who he is,what he does, and more importantly what he is capable of doing with a set of heads.:respekt: Darin could probably piss on a set of heads and pick up 20hp.:D
