The more street friendly Z/28 exists

It's called the 1LE. It's got A/C, a stereo, power seats, and the other goodies that people want.

I drive a 98 Z28. It's definitely more street focused than the 2014 Z/28 but it also isn't a Z/28.

Just drop an LS7 in it, done...

No, the LS3 is enough in the 1LE.

Then why the rejection of the Z/28?

People are upset that its going to cost ~70K

I think very very few are rejecting it. And those that are either can't afford it or they are ZL1 owners concerned the Z/28 will outshine their Camaro.

I don't know if it would cost $70k but that kind of performance costs money.

I'm thinking under $60K

People are just pissed because they can't have the fully loaded 427 Camaro they have wanted since the Camaro has returned, and have it fully warrantied. I applaud GM for building the Z28 for the ones that will enjoy it! Personally, all I would want would be 3 more speakers, and then I would mod the 427 a lil more to my liking.

Yes it's going to be expensive but I can't imagine MSRP being $70K. I guess it's fun to speculate but that seems pretty high having heard at the NY Auto show what the Z/28 is comprised of. Probably will be approaching that though with taxes and could be higher if you buy from the wrong dealer. We will see.

GM has already public stated the z28 is above the zl1 in price point. That puts it in the 60-70k range, that is even without dealer markup which this model will surely have.
