Silver Is Most Popular Car Color

Silver is the most popular color, as it has been for six consecutive years, The Detroit News reported, citing color specialists at PPG Industries Inc.

Silver will remain the No. 1 choice for consumers in the coming years, PPG said, but a number of more subtle color trends could have a major impact on the auto industry in the coming years. "We're going to see a lot more browns and graphite colors, as well as blues emerging in the future," said Jane Harrington, manager of color styling at PPG.

What do you guys think. Is silver a color people get when they can't decide on a color?

:confused: Hmmm. Silver was my choice for the new Camaro. :confused:

I don't know about anyone's reason for choosing silver, but for me, one black car is enough! :D

I don't know. I'll wait and see what the car looks like in person. Who knows...I may end up with another black Camaro. :D

Silver is definitely the choice for people that don't know what color to get, or that don't care what color it is. My wife's Pontiac Montana is silver, and I hate it. One good thing though is it looks cleaner a lot longer than my black truck.

I like black w/ a little bit of silver maybe some silver racing stripes.

There have been studies done about the types of personalities that coincide with the colors people choose for their cars. I'm sure it's online somehwere...I'll try to find one.

No offense to anyone who might have taken that the wrong way. I've heard from folks that silver is a color people get when they can't decide. Of course, there are plenty of people who actually like silver....that's a given. Personally, I want another black camaro even after having to put up w/ all the crap of having to keep this one clean. They are just too sick when the all black car is clean...:cool:

I want silver because I think it looks beautiful. If they put big scoops on it then I'll paint them black as well as the spoiler, and as soon as I can get my TA it'll be black with silver.
