At the dealer now for CEL. Cylinder misfire.

Check engine light went on yesterday. Seemed to be running ok. lady just told me it's a misfire in cylinder 8...it's a v6. This should be interesting.

Four guys looking under the hood now

Maybe they'll see that there's no way to fix the "problem" and you'll get a brand new v8

73camarolt 01-26-2013 09:46 AM

Sounds like you need a new dealer...

I think they're not running on all cylinders either.

And pick up a cheap reader so you now the code before you get there. I don't trust dealers to tell you the right code either.

Tell her you need a new set of muffler bearrings.

Mine did this in the cold when starting. There is a service bulletin re-flash for this. Have them look it up.

Im guessing that on Saterday the service dept is not open for anything that requires more diagnostic other than something obvious. Oil changes, basic maintenance and car clean up for new sales is probably their Saterday stuff. I guess Im just lucky, I have a dealership with a great service dept. I trust taking any of my vechicles to them over the other shops in the area. Take the rental, enjoy your weekend, and Monday will be here before you know it. :chevy:

Mine did the same thing this morning. I don't have a code reader and had to get to work so I had OnStar pull a diagnostic. Misfire. Drove my jeep to work, and am dropping the car off tomorrow night for service first thing Monday morning. I'm hoping its just the re-flash issue mentioned above. I will say though, the car has 39,200 miles on it, and this is my first issue. I'm a happy customer.
