Dashdaq - insane OBD2 monitor

So has anyone ever used or heard of the Dashdaq? Just ran accross it today. Looks like it does everything, including playing video, and GPS Nav. It even comes with software to set it up on your computer AND customize the skins for the screen!! Its basically a dual core Linux based computer thats main function is OBD2 monitoring/logging. Takes 6 seconds to boot from vehicle start, not to shabby!!!

Yes, that silly Dashdaq sticker peels off.

To prove how customizable the skins actually are for this thing here is a skin someone made for the Honda s2000

Here are some vids of the skin editor, seriously this thing is epic.

Edit:
Ok, after looking at this website and the forum for like an hour I will purchase this and I will find a place for it in my Camaro.

you know what, i'll probably wait. IPhone 3.0 is going to allow interface with external devices and I am willing to bet someone will come out with something comparable to this for like 10-20 bucks + the interface cable.

You're absolutely right! Soon we'll be able to pull diagnostic codes with our iPhone 3.0! And also the sky's the limit for true GPS turn by turn navigation with the iPhone!

considering it cost me over 100$ to have my check engine light code read on my ford last winter... this would be a great investment. freakin cool as hell!

I would wait a while though because Iphone 3.0 going to allow apps to use the USB port so you wont have to purchase the obd wlan device to use the app. Im sure that OBD WLAN thing is expensive. Not to mention it won't be near as responsive with a wired connect. Im sure once 3.0 comes out this app is going to soar.

The one from california (listed in the hardware section) is about 150US (169 for canadians). Really not too bad. The wifi may cause some lag, but i think the convenience of not having it tethered to anything is pretty cool. Plus, with the wired route, they'd have to figure out a way for you to be able to have the charger connected at the same time, as im sure the app is a battery killer.

I doubt it would change much. OBD dongles aren't cheap. And you'll still have issues with power, etc as the iPhone won't act as a host but a client USB device so you'll need the OBD tool to act as the host which will likely require a special device made just for the iPhone.

...when it's out for the blackberry I might spring for the phone app. Dashdaq looks great though.
