The 80mph speed limit signs on I-10 in West Texas will be extremely inviting :D

That's not a bad idea - did you know that it's an 18 hr drive from Raleigh to Kansas?? Don't think I could go any further West though, that's already a 2-day drive. But I need dates fast..

Mods - we really need the date(s) soon to start securing vacation time from our day jobs.... Pretty Please... :D

All they know right now is that it will be the last half of April. They won't know any concrete dates until they hammer out the details and settle on a site.

Raleigh to Dallas (1188 miles) is almost the HALFWAY point to Las Vegas (another 1220 miles to Vegas).

My keester would look like this (________________) if I had to travel that far in a car.....

Good Luck on the Convoy !!:w00t:

Darn straight!! :headbang:

And to both of you -- great signature pictures! :)

Darth_Emma 07-21-2010 09:07 PM

The speed limit is 80 in west texas? Omg. My soon-to-be-installed twin turbo kit might like that a whole bunch. I might be changing my mind about this trek...

On the other hand, sending my car on a truck with the rest of you folks and then flying would be even better.

El Diablo 07-22-2010 01:00 AM

If we have it at Firebird in Phoenix it would only be 5000 miles round trip for me:thumbup: It was 5000 miles one way to Valdosta in April and it was great. So people have to quit questioning the mileage and just do it. These cars are meant to be driven. They are comfortable, easy on fuel and a blast so get out and enjoy them. Everyone on here wants this in their own backyard but it is impossible. So keep the spirit alive and go with the hand we are dealt. I am going to do my best to get to where ever it ends up next year. So lets support the mods in their decision and have fun. :respekt:

Chris and Bruces early idea. I'm gonna be looking into it. Talahasee is right in the 'wheelhouse' of the trucks route if you're interested. We'd get as many as possible together and split it fairly.

Let me know what you find out. I'll be interested in trucking it out to Phoenix or Lost Wages and driving it back home. Planning on making it a 8 - 10 day trip out of it anyways.

In my opinion......
Vegas is tooooooo far west!
You'll lose anyone from Canada and the East coast.
Texas or central would be better! IMO

True, but considering it was in Georgia for the first one, (which is a lot further east than Vegas is to the west) it kinda seems fair to bring it west-ish coast. ;)

Dr Jkel 07-22-2010 06:56 AM

I think we can pretty much give up on the idea of a central location this year. With that being said west coastish whatever that means will mean that people will have to really decide if the can get off from work and have the time to make a long trip, like the ones farther west did last year.

If it is in Vegas I think people will justify coming because the can go to Vegas in the evening and it has alot of night life so to speak.

I think they will find that the surrounding areas in California will not be as hospitable as thos at SGMP.

Blackhawk,

Standing ready for the convoy regardless of destination. Should be a blast...just like C5Fest I!

We are duking it out.. kinda ;) with our prmary choice.

In comparrison we are small fries so we are having to work hard to convince them that we can turn a profit...

(that's the short version)... I just learned from last year, that once I say it here it's official..... So please forgive us... We are truly trying to get it done

I promise... :D
