Admiral Blue Build: Procharged 427

Hello, My name is Nate and this is my slow going build of my 2010 2SS/RS IBM. Nothing outrageous will happen here, don't really have the money to go bonkers on this. But it will still be fun and plus its getting to the point I need help keeping track of every thing Iv done and I figured many of you would like to see it.

Dyno sheet after tuning 440RWHP/437 RWTQ

Dyno was on the happy side I think, but either way my tuner did a great job. It was like night and day after the tune. Seen a big improvement on the 1/4 mile as well. Ran a PB of 12.71 @ 113 w/ a shotty 2.107 60'. Trapped between 113-115 all weekend long.

I had surgery and had to park my car for about a week and when I was cleaning my car after recovering I discovered this mess. They chewed on the wires for my MAF sensor, but luckily didn't destroy them. Wrapped them up with electrical tape and called it good. Never found the damn things, but I set about 6 traps in the garage alone.

Holly crap it only took them a week to do that. Must have been a sewer rat.

Great looking car. Love what you've done so far. Looking forward to your next set of mods :D

Thanks, hopefully Ill get to it soon. Probably go tomorrow and install the trailing arms and toe rods. Either way it'll get done before the track opens up.:chevy:

Can't wait to get my cam ordered and see how it performs.

Did you have to buy separate O2 sensor extensions for the pacesetter header install? From your one picture it looks like you have exactly what I just bought. Sorry about the rodents, at least there was no permeant damage.

CamaroStrong 02-26-2013 11:46 PM

Or could you post more pictures of the install if you have them?

Yea I had to buy the O2 sensor extensions, sorry don't have any more pictures of the install. But if you have any questions I can help you out.

Ok, I do have a few questions then. Where did you finally get the extensions from? Did the black paint burn completely of after running them or did you get the coated ones? And how is the heat in the engine bay from running the headers? I'm thinking about wrapping the headers but I want to run them first to heat them up. I like the numbers you were getting! Any tips or advice for the install?

Bought the extensions from TSP

Yes the black paint burns off, I didn't coat them or anything. Figured if they rust ill actually buy a good set as I got these for dirt cheap anyways.

The heat isn't too bad, not much of a difference that I could tell. I could be wrong though, I didn't really pay too much attention before the headers.

Some general tips, make sure you don't break the O2 sensors when you take them off the manifolds. Mine came right out but Iv read on here of people breaking them. Buy a GM manifold gasket, the one that comes with it is junk. I have heard of people reusing theirs but I didn't go that route. If you have access to a lift it would make it a lot easier. If not atleast tall jackstands, the more room the easier it will be. And this sounds obvious but don't drive your car before the install if you can help it. Installed some for another member and he drove to my house. Burnt myself a few times doing his, those exhaust ports are hot and stay hot for a while lol.
