ZL1 Muffler Delete?

Anyone dare venture to go this route yet?

I have heard the dual note exhaust and its a little too mild, even after the wild switch is open :yikes:

Anyone? :iono:

Thinking about it. Just waitin to hear 1 first and see how its done. Got the flap controls back there and 2 outlets each side

Headers solve the problem completely lol. I heard one in Atlanta last week.

It's a cheap mod...someone try it and post some results. :)

Headers solve it . . I know . . dual mode is AWESOME . .

At start up and WOT the car tells you " I am bad ass"

At cruise, no drone, and a VERY comfortable car for a 500 mile road trip . .

How do I know . . . I did it . . :)

Did you get a tune as well ? I would assume that you would have to :iono:

I have SLP Long tube headers, pulleys, tune and injectors along with air cleaner.

I would NOT want it any louder. It feels every bit the 650RWHP when I go WOT and as Andy said, still nice for that 9 hour ride home from Maryland.

No drone, nothing but a quiet rumble.

I drove back with a friend, he said it sounded like Nascar when I flew by him.

I have a basic dial in tune to prevent codes, once he is broken in will go back for a dyno tune to get the numbers after headers and air box.

Dan yours has to be AWESOME!

I think so Andy. Having owned three different Z06's and my Camaro SS, this car far surpasses all of them...........and I said that BEFORE adding 150 HP to the rear wheels!

Do have a video so we can hear how it sounds? Those are the same mods I am planning on doing to mine once it gets in.

I was on the track earlier this week with some Z06s and they seemed pretty kick-ass. Not questioning you but am really interested in understanding what you like about the ZL1 that beats a Z06.

...not sure about that, it's pretty raucous when the valve's open up the mufflers at it's pre-determined point. I for one think it was brilliant design GM has used to pass drive by noise GOV standards, and employ a more open exhaust in the performance envelope on the street.
