Looks great.

Is that a keyhole next to the bowtie on the trunk?

radz28 04-14-2010 02:19 PM

looks like it. :barf: put it UNDER the bowtie.

i'm guessing no fold down rear seat? or with the top down you can't get back there to emergency release the trunk if the electronic latch quits working??

:word:
Incorporate light into spoiler would look better IMO. Other than that I like it

Scrappy Doo 04-14-2010 02:55 PM

Neat!

ctk1 04-14-2010 02:58 PM

Why does it need a keyhole in the trunklid?

No access from inside the car from the back seat??

fbodyrs96 04-14-2010 03:00 PM

sweet!

OldSchoolCamaro 04-14-2010 03:05 PM

Looking good. Now we need a picture from the side.

C4 04-14-2010 03:13 PM

that pretty bad azz
that key whole does not look good at all.
they need to dump that idea.

04Ram2500Hemi 04-14-2010 03:22 PM

I don't hate it, but I don't love it. It would be better if it was a SS (just my opinion).

RedJewelrsss32 04-14-2010 03:23 PM

NICE COLOR

pacecar 04-14-2010 03:31 PM

a front shot tells us nothing new gm!! where is the side shot?
the rear looks ok, between the new keyhole (hide it) , the rear sensors (ugly) the 3rd brake light (put it in the spoiler) and the xm antenna (not gonna pay for radio) -- its a little disappointing, but glad its coming just the same

305pride 04-14-2010 03:31 PM

drooooooooools

Agreed.
I'm trying not to nit-pick too much but they could have done a couple of things in a new mould just for the convertible. Examples are that third brake light/ spoiler combo, and the antenna maybe off to the side (moulded for quarter. Ahh... I dunno... had to go someplace I guess.

Revo1 04-14-2010 03:52 PM

These angles look great! Is it performing at the school play, or what? I bet Mustang cried when they gave the lead to Camaro :D

Tx1Lt 04-14-2010 03:56 PM

Need a shot with the top up.

brAnd7onX 04-14-2010 03:56 PM

What are they thinking with that keyhole?? Why not just make an automatic trunk lid opener on your key?? This isn't 1960.

believe me when i say that lots of other configurations were investigated; this was the best solution in the end.

for obvious reasons you dont want the rear seats to fold down like they do in the coupe. thus there's no way to unlock the trunk if/when your battery is dead; therefore why there's a key hole on the trunk just in case (yes, the convertible will be coming with an automative trunk lid opener on the key just like the coupe).

FenwickHockey65 04-14-2010 04:01 PM

Oh baby...

chevydude26 04-14-2010 04:32 PM

that sure is a beauty...its mine!

Leolee 04-14-2010 04:32 PM

i noticed the back up sensors are a lil different but i like it

Rookie13 04-14-2010 04:47 PM

Maybe it's the angle, but that front bumper just doesn't appear to be an "improvement" for the 2012.

The lower grill opening is completely different, and they still haven't fielded the Heritage Grill as the standard. Why don't the upper and lower openings appear "factory" to me - just looks odd.

Other than that - Kudos!

the front bumper is exactly the same for a V6 model, what's so different about it? this is a V6. they do still have a year before they release these, it could change, but i highly doubt it will change much from what you see here. i don't know why they don't seem "factory" to you because they definitely are

dude the heritage grill is ugly and for a niche audience...please don't force that as the standard now...the heritage grille was meant for a car from the 60's it doesn't jibe with the new interpretation of retro that is the camaro of today...and this grille looks exactly the same to me as the current v6

Same as they've been since Spring '09 my friend.
On the V6 that is.

DevilKnightFalcon 04-14-2010 05:27 PM

Don't like the shark fin (it shouldn't even be there at all) and why oh why is there a keyhole next to the bowtie! It looks like it has a wart!

DevilKnightFalcon 04-14-2010 05:32 PM

Why would I not want the rear seats to fold down? Obviously when the top is down it wouldn't do you want good...but with the top up it seems like it could be useful. I understand that the keyhole would be there if the seats dont fold down but it still looks bad...really really bad....

kbui 04-14-2010 05:38 PM

Love the convertible! A couple of simple fixes before production and GM will have another winner: 1) keyhole (if I remembered correctly, back in 69 you can turn the bowtie to get to the keyhole?) relocation and 2) brake light should be aprt of the spoiler. Another change I would like to see is the huge trash cans (mufflers) replaced with something smaller and out of view. I want mine to be a 2SS/RS with the original hugger orange please...

ORANGE U NV 04-14-2010 05:40 PM

I think they could hide the keyhole behind a flip-up bowtie emblem.... it's been done before.:iono:

Dave McFly 04-14-2010 05:40 PM

they could have put the keyhole where it is on the C6 vette near one of the plate bulbs are or my preference, under the plate 3rd gen style ;).
