Before I buy an Exhaust

I'm about to buy an exhaust for my ride, but before I do so I'm looking for one that has a nice sound to it even at idle, something that can give it a nice growl. I have a 2012 V6 Camaro. I'm open to opinions, any suggestions from fellow LFX owners? :iono:

Consnsus seems to be MRT V2.....by a fair margin.

(I asked same, not long ago, and there are many threads on the subject)

It looks like a well-made system, and sounds great in the vids I've seen. Debating on that, vs the Flowmaster AT. Leaning MRT, just based on the reviews here.

Thanks bro, that's what I originally planned for, but I was just testing the waters to see if there may have been other options out there.

I'll be getting the Dynomax Vt soon

Im getting a solo mach cat back soon, reasonable price and sounds great from what I'heard. Btw what did you guys do with your stock exhausts? did you keep them?

Yeah... if you use your search function within this forum ( Camaro V6 LFX Engine, Exhaust, and Bolt-Ons ), you'll find quite a few videos/audios of different brands and types of muffler systems. It's a question every new member asks (including me just a month ago) so there is lots of input already posted.

In many garages across this great country, there are many stock Camaro exhausts collecting dust.

if you want a sound at idle go mrt v.1 axle backs, the v.2 were designed to be less obnoxious unless you want it to be. from what ive researched (just got and installed my mrt v.2 exhaust not too long ago, so my research is still fresh in my mind) if you ge the v.2 you will be disapointed because it doesnt make much sound at idle. i personally love the v.2 cuz it can be situational. mrt has the lowest pitch i think, every other exhaust ive heard for the v6 sounds like a rice burner. however deep grumble is not what your gonna get.

Basemaro 06-19-2012 01:31 AM

Keep in mind its a v6 so yea, you will have a hint of rice IMO with every exhaust. I hear this buzz throughout every exhaust. Narrowed down to 2 exhausts.

Magnaflow and mrt v2. Depends on what you want. If louder i'd go with one of mrt's exhausts if you want a mellow sound but deep i'd go magnaflow.
For some people the magnas are too quiet so to them it'd be a waste of $$.

The MRT v2 is by far the most popular V6 exhaust system we carry. It has a nice "non-ricey" tone.

Are there any local camaro clubs where you live? If you have the means, attend one and listen to some live samples. I got MRT 2 from the guy right above me, got a good deal and they sound tits, but thats just me.
