400HP LS2 V8 Confirmed?
Surprised I didn't see this here sooner but I thought I would post it; the news is via egmcartech.com
"...Now for those you who are power hungry for a true muscle car, the V8 range-topper should satisfy your needs. According to AutoCar, the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS will likely get GM’S 6.0L LS2 V8 engine that produces 400 horsepower. The original 1967 Camaro SS was powered by a 6.5 liter V8 that produced 375-hp."-Egmcartech.com http://www.egmcartech.com/2008/04/14...red-by-ls2-v8/ |
You didn't see it here because the LS2 was confirmed dead long long long ago. This is inaccurate information. In fact, the 1967 model information is also incorrect I believe. The concept car had an LS2, but it was just the concept.

Who ever wrote that article is going to feel stupid when the Camaro comes out. I'm afraid the Camaro will not have the LS2 Mpower. If I could guess, a modified version of the LS3 or the LSA..
|
Yep no LS2, maybe a detuned version of the LS3........
|
I could live with that.:happyanim:

WOW, it took more time to click the damn smilies than to post my stupid response...
|
No engines or power numbers have truly been confirmed yet.
|
The LS2 is in the concept. It will not make production.

Exactly right! And also, the LS2 is still being produced by us and we ship some of them to Silao, Mexico. |
^^^^^wow, now that is the way to keep this thread going.

^^^très interesting. and in other news, am i the only one who believed it when lutz said 6.0 liter and thus am guessing a tuned up l76? i mean doesn't it have afm and vvt and all????:iono:
|
On that note . . . 3whiterag (or anyone else) do you think you could tell us what the differance between an LS2 and a L76 retuned to 400 hp would be? Because isn't the L76 a direct decendant of the LS2?
