Convertible Z/28?

As there is a convertible GT500, any chance we will see a convertible Z/28?

chewy8 08-21-2010 08:34 AM

thats crazy talk

Maybe so - But one can always hope

Possibly. It depends on demand and how much the soft top compromises the rigidity of the car.

T-Tops! srrsly tho . . . . .

I am waiting for the Z28 convertible BUT if Chevy fails to offer a Z28 convertible they will lose me to the GT500.

Sunroofs and T-Tops ain't the same.

Z-28 Hardtop is all I want, not a vert fan.

Hard top convertible would be best.

Every chance I get, I lobby for a convertible Z/28. I've told Tom Henry, Scott, everybody I can find. I give it a 10% chance. The problem, as DGthe3 indicated, is rigidity of the frame. Too much torque can twist the frame.

Tell them that Ford did it with the GT500. Surely Chevy can do it with the Z28?

As much as I hate to say this I will: I would not mind seeing a 2012 Z/28 convertible. All my Z/28's are hard tops with the exception of my 1991 Z/28, I will tell you that it would be nice to have huge power with the wind blowing through your hair at 150MPH!!! Given GM's current track record with big HP cars example "ZR1, Z06,CTS-V" only in Hard Top configuration I would not count on a Conv. in the upcoming 2012 Z/28. "I could be wrong though,:iono: so come to your own conclusion. Jeff

Even if they need to stuff it full of additional bracing (let's face it, the Camaro is already overweight, so what a little more fat really going to matter), they better produce a Z28 convertible or forever give up any hope of matching the Mustang's status as the ultimate pony car in this last golden age of muscle.

I look for the camaro z28 to be only standard trans however just like the ZO6 the grand sport has the look but not the ponys i look for gm to maybe offer the Z28 look on camaro convertiable later on .
