Cleaning Tree Sap & Bird Droppings off

So, the heat combined with being out of town has left some not-so-nice residue of bird poo and tree sap on my precious. I'm having a helluvatime trying to get both off. I've washed several times, but this stuff just ain't comin off. Anyone have some suggestions for cleaning supplies that can remove without damaging paint?

personally I would try using close to BOILING hot water (hot water has better solubility), mixed with some thick soap, like dish washing detergent... try completely soaking the problem areas for as long as possible, hours if needed to let the water and soap slowly diffuse into the mess and then it should come off much easier with a little rubbing

careful not to scrape ur paint off so watch what supplies you use

the key with these things is to get them off asap :/

hot water, soap and patience...it will all come off. dont go scrubbing the hell out of it, you will just scratch the paint.

from my understanding, you should only claybar AFTER you remove any residual dirt. you dont wanna claybar over dried up bird shit or tree sap, small particles could get stuck in the clay and scratch your whole car

Proper claybar procedure is to break the bar into maybe 16 pieces and roll out each piece into a quarter sized disk then work in 1/16th sections of your car flipping the clay bar half way through.

Very VERY little chance of scratching if you do that as there will not be very much contamination at that point. You can only clean off your car so much with soap and water. the clay bar gets the stuff that is embedded in the clearcoat.
