Will the Canadian dealers be taking orders on the 13th too?

I originally wanted to go south, but now with the exchange rates (8% ), and having to pay state tax (7.25%... Tax where my cousin lives ), it's going to cost 15% more.....

If GM prices like the Challenger, I'd rather buy here !!

DGthe3 10-05-2008 11:07 PM

I heard that they aren't. Not sure where. But the basic reason is GM Canada doesn't expect too many people to want to take their new Camaro out in the snow.

And others don't care if its snowing or not -they are still going to drive it. Thats just what I remember hearing from not too long ago. All it means (if true) is that we will wait till the second round of ordering rather than the first.

Granted, I'm not going to drive it in the snow, but if they start building mid February, we're talking about April delivery ( April 1st is normally the day my car comes out of storage ).

Are there any knowledgeable Canadian dealers visiting here? When will Canadians be able to go to place their order?

Worst part.... I have all the funds ready to go...... I'm so jealous of our US friends !!!

BLACK67 10-06-2008 09:05 AM

M dealer told me last week that The Oct.13 date was US only and that we have to wait until Dec.

Cool !! Nice to meet you neighbor !!!

If, and when I can get some local pricing here in Montreal, I'll post it. I hope you can do the same. I would like to see what the price differences are.

Hey Logan, I saw in another thread that you are prepared to pay 60 grand for a loaded 2SS, is this the ballpark figure your dealer has given you ?

BLACK67 10-10-2008 07:08 AM

The 16th of December that is, he is Canadian.
I was at my dealer again last night and left them a copy of the "Initial Ordering Workbook".
lol.... They appreciate me keeping them up to Date.

Sorry for the double post but I guess this is now the official Canadian thread

The 16th of December sounds more realistic.... At least you got some information, the local dealers here are clueless !!

logan1080 10-10-2008 08:29 AM

I wouldnt like to pay 60K, the dealer hasnt gave me and prices yet but im guessing the car will sit around 50K. Add taxes and catback exhaust, hurst shifter, air intake, inferno interior package, racing stripes, i would not be surprised if when all said and done with, the car will hit that 60K mark. its a terrible thought but it wouldnt surprise me.

More of the same here, I have been in contact with my dealer and they don't know much. I am in Peterborough, Ontario... about 71 Km away from where GM is building the Camaro. Hmm, I wonder if I can go pick mine up when it's ready? :D

I've asked a few times. The answer seems to be no. I don't want to take no for an answer though.

camarorick 10-10-2008 07:19 PM

Double posting here!! I just returned from my dealer, and they claim I will be able to put my order in on Oct 16th....

BLACK67 10-11-2008 09:38 AM

Yup, double post. I am going to have to check the Canadian thread first from now on. lets cross our fingers.

ChrisB 10-11-2008 03:24 PM
