IPS Motorsports Closed for Good

Just read over at TBSSOWNERS.COM that IPS Motorsports has closed it's doors for good.

They had a reputation as one of the best GM/LSX performance shops in the area.

I never had a problem with any mechanical work they did on my two Camaros. My experience with their tuner, on the other hand, was a mixed bag. I know a lot of folks had issues with their customer service. My only complaint was they didn't always answer the phone or call you back when you left a message.

Now that they're closed, just curious what shops in the Central Ohio area is everyone using for their performance needs? I'm planning to replace brake rotors and calipers on my ZL1 after the holidays and was going to use IPS to do the work. Now I'm not sure who I'll get to do the job.

BACK STREET PERFORMANCE in Medina Ohio

They are a little Northeast, but they are very good and actually do a lot of race prep and are track side for several teams, camaro, corvette, and spec miatas

Hmmm....Crucial Performance is in the same building. Are they one and the same?

dhall1911 11-28-2015 06:32 AM

Theres a bunch shit going on with that hawk02. Dont suspect Carlye be in there for very long

BrainleSS 11-28-2015 12:58 PM

Well it appears that Crucial Performance has moved and teamed up with Vic's auto body, As for dhall's comment, we will see Mark is doing a lot of r/d on products for many cars and has a the reputation to do well.

Good because there was one left unfinished when I was IPS picking up all my old parts. I guess I could have looked at your details to see you had a 2014 lol

Sounds like a bit of a soap opera going on here.

Most of the Crucial web site is still under construction and the Carlye racing site doesn't mention one word about service or installation. The location of Vic's Auto Body isn't very convenient for me either.

I'm always surprised at the lack of high quality performance shops for a city the size of Columbus. For all it's faults, IPS had been relatively stable over the 5 years I was a customer, and outside of tuning I never had any issues with the quality of their work. Darn shame it closed.

I think for now I'm going to sit tight and wait for things to hopefully shake out.

A bit of a drive from Columbus. But try
Raymonds Alignment/Raymonds Performance
US 40 west
Plainfield In.
customers come from Canada, Calif. Tenn. Ky. Ill. Mo and more for work at this shop.
Check their web/site
