Convertible News?

Hello All,

I tried the search feature but was unable to come up with any new news on predictions for the Camaro convertible. I have had my thoughts set on getting a IBM SS/RS Convertible and was hoping GM was still pushing in that direction.

Does anyone know the latest on whether the intention is still to launch the convertible and potentially when? Are they still looking at 2011??

Thanks in advance.

The convertible is definitely a go. Early reports stated the arrival to be summer of 2010 and later reports state it will be delayed until 2011. I think it will be here in 12 months.

Thanks. I am hoping for 2010. If it is pushed out further I think I am going to grab something else for awhile..

Good luck look how long the coupe has been on quality hold and they are going to try and make a convertable top! They should just make 2000 of them and then try to figure out what they did wrong before they take orders.

Would April be when you could place an order or the start of delivery? :iono:

This pic makes me think it won't be too long. Hopefully the mid-to-late 2010 rumors are true.

That is exactly what I want!

Glad to hear that the vert is still a GO and hopefully Scotty's timing is still the schedule. Would love to be placing an order (regardless of the wait people are having for the coupe right now) this Fall for delivery next Spring!

I WILL get a CAMARO no matter what. Just don't know how long I can hold out for the vert. Otherwise a coupe w/sunroof will do.

I don't want to share bad news but it was reported in several news pubs that GM has scraped the ragtop as the vender for the top assembly is now out of business. They have also reportedly push-off the Z-28 as they don't have the tooling funds. If someone can show proof otherwise please advise us all, please.
