any difference btn the v6 and v8 springs?

toehead93 07-05-2011 09:44 AM

The SS comes with FE3 springs and the LT/V6 comes with FE2 springs. The front FE3 springs have a stiffer, 27 Nm spring rate, with wheel travel reduced at 84 mm and the rear spring rate is increased to 66 Nm and wheel travel is reduced to 100 mm.

I got this information from post #4 in the thread below, which the poster pulled from SuperChevy:
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75788 Some people are upgrading their FE2 suspension to FE3 parts like the OP in this thread... http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155074

Not sure if just the springs will make a noticeable difference, but using the SS struts/springs/sways made a big difference on my car, Lowering it about 3/4" and making the car handle a lot tighter. Worth a shot if you are looking to help your v6 but dont want to spend a fortune!

Codeman1407, you're exactly right. Thanks for clarifying that if you buy these springs you still need the other supporting parts to match the SS handling.

Is it the springs that dictate the wheel travel? Or do the shocks/struts dictate that?
