poor quality leather

Has anyone had issues with the leather quality? My car is a week old and already found a couple tiny spots where I get in.
|
Do you carry a knife with you? lol
Yeah, that seems odd. I don't know what to say, my leather has been fine. |
I would make sure that your clothes dont have anything that is ripping the seats or that you dont have anything dangling like a wallet chain. That looks something beyond clothing/wear and tear.
|
No don't carry a knife. The only thing I can think of is a button on my work pants? They're khakis
|
Like all leather, even nice quality (which our cars dont have) you still have to be mindfull of belts, keys, rivets, buttons and zippers on jeans, etc.
|
The dealer traded out my seat covers without batting an eye when they looked to not be wearing very well.
Use conditioner on your leather and try not to slide on it too much. That's really all you can do. ALL leather seats get "worn" eventually. |
I don't know, plastic button on khakis? I wouldn't expect that to do it, I was thinking like those metal ones on the front little pockets of jeans would be an issue if they were on the back.
|
Also, from the angle and position, it could be from your left foot entering the car or your right foot leaving the car.
|
Poor angle picture. That's actually higher up. Foot would never get near the spot. picture should be rotated clockwise once for proper angle. Picture was taken with my phone.

Its the spot that kind of pushes out at waist level.
These two pictures taken at same angle, second just zoomed in. |
My other theory would be moving the seat forward/backward for backseat entry. Maybe someone had a ring on their finger or just rough getting out with belt rubbing? Just guessing
