Just got back from ordering. . .
 

Well I just placed my order but will be going back on Friday to put it in the system. (Head guy wasn't there.)

First I have to say I got it at MSRP and not a penny more. I also got the first one of only 2 the dealer will be getting.
I put down 2k (I was planning on laying out around 10 for down payment.)

I ordered
1SS - Cyber Grey Metalic (May change to Rally Yellow)
RS Package
4 gage pod
Hurst STS
Leather - But I am sure I can't order it with Leather. . . Which really sucks ass because I wanted the ambient lighting also.

How did they enter the order for the 4 gauges on a 1SS?

As stated in the above post. It was all on paper today. . Friday I'm going back to place the order in the system.

I know that you can purchase the 4 Gage pod as a dealer installed accessory. Just like the Hurst STS. My guess is this is how it will be done.

If I can order leather then I'll keep the 1ss, if not. . i might upgrade and not eat for 4 months to a 2ss.

they wouldnt let me add it since the order sheet didnt have that as an available option for the 1SS... please let me know if they were able to add the 4 guage cluster to the 1SS order.

You cannot order leather in the 1ss, which is stupid. Only leather in the 2ss and the lt.

Ralley yellow 1SS sounds awesome.

Going in, in about 2 hours to confrim everything.

I'm interested in getting the 1SS package with the 4 guage cluster option too. I can't pre-order now because of other financial commitments. I hope it is an option by the end of next year or 2010 which is when I'll be ready to buy one.

Just by the guage cluster from GMPP and plug it in. Easy enough....

How many people are actually going to do this with their 1SS? Is it an OEM guage kit? I want it to be OEM or else I will have to spend the extra $$ for the 2SS. It will be cool to see a modding section on camaro5 and see what kinds mods people are doing to their camaros.

Couldn't select the 4 gauge pod. . . option wasn't there. I'll just purchase it and install myself. . maybe.

here is the big question/deal breaker.
If I can't get Leather in the 1SS then I am going all out for the 2SS.

But logically. . .does it make sense to get leather in the 1SS? Dealer and I looked up how much leather cost on other cars. . . Average was $1,300. . . Ok, now add $300(?) for the 4 gauge pod.

This brings leather and pod to estimated total of $1,600. The price difference of the 1ss and 2ss is $3185. We need to subtract $1,600 form the difference, bringing us to $1,585.

So for a whopping $1,585 . . . is the hassle really worth it? I think not. . . Might change my order tomorrow already.

Thanks for the info on your experience. Since I've got the time to wait, I'll see how many people actually mod their 1SS and install the guages. I don't really care for leather. I'd just like to get the 1SS, RS package, and Boston Acoustics stereo upgrade. If I can install the OEM guages myself at a lower price, I'll do it.
