The OEM ZL1 finish is between a satin and gloss finish closer to satin. The closest finish in our Style 41 wheels will be satin black. It will have slightly less sheen.

I just put my name on the list cant wait for these wheels to come in

AlexM 05-02-2013 03:15 PM

Do we know the weight of the wheels by now? I know the 11" is 31lbs., what about the 9" and 10"? About 2lbs. less for each inch?

I believe what gives the wheels the shine is the clear coat GM uses but the paint is so thin you can have 6 ZL1's next to each other with the black wheels and all will be different looking.

The photos don't really show the true finish. The Style 41 matte black is very close to own, but as I said earlier a better finish.

Really interested in the 20x10 in satin black. Are these on par with the oem wheels durability/strength?

We test our wheels to the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) standard J2530 which is simular to the German TUV and Japanese JWA an VIA stsndards. This is the standard OE manufacturers test to as well. Our wheels are as durable and strong as the OE. All of our wheels carry a lifetime structural warranty.

I plan to move my stock TPMS to these new rims.

Anyone here have experience with moving the stock TPM sensors to the new aftermarket rims? Is anything needed when doing this? I have read that new seals may be needed, but I'm not for sure.

freefallin2005 05-03-2013 05:25 PM

they are just torx screws and you get them with the new rubber valve stems and yes you will need new valve stems

ToolFan66 05-03-2013 05:31 PM

Just buy the tire package, that way you don't have to worry about it!! :-)

I believe your valve stem is rubber. It is attached to the sensor by a TORX (star) head screw. It is necessary to remove the screw from the bottom of the sensor to separate it from the valve stem. The valve stem should be replaced, it will probably be damaged when it is removed from the wheel. The TORX screw needs to be tightened to 11.5 inch pounds of torque. They are $8.00 to $10.00 each at most auto parts stores.

Most aftermarket wheels are designed to accept TPM sensors.

Hope this helps.

When will the polished/chrome be released?

RedVictory 05-03-2013 08:47 PM

Does anyone know where to get the oem style center caps?

(Besides the stealership)

J2530 is considered minimum requirement... OE will test above/beyond in order to gaurantee they pass it.

We test beyond the standard as well. All of our wheels exceed the various tests within the standard.
