New to GM and Camaro

Hello, my name is Rob.

I'm new to this forum.

Some weeks ago I had actually placed an order on a 2014 Impact Blue Mustang GT Premium, with track pack (Boss Inspired), navigation and comfort package after 6 years of waiting. I had owned and driven many sports cars in my life, European, American and Japanese but I always new I would come back to a Mustang GT. I had previously owned one some years ago. Something about the Mustang tradition in my family and Mustang being the first Pony car. I had even test driven the model I mention above several times and enjoyed it a lot. I was very happy waiting for delivery.

However I thought I owed it to myself to drive a GM product, Camaro. I found a comparable package in the Camaro 2SS, RS, 1LE with dual exhaust.
I was so impressed with the handling in comparison to the Mustang above I canceled my order within days and bought a 2013 2SS coupe in Blue Ray Metallic, 1LE,RS, with Dual Exhaust and Navigation. I was in love with this car's handling and control even though speed and power was very similar to the Mustang. I even was willing to give up on the exterior and interior leather colors I really wanted. The price was even significantly higher on the Camaro (Ford gave me a great, great price) given Chevrolet dealerships were not willing to go down to the price I wanted. I even showed them my Mustang order and my willingness to cancel at the right price. Which I was prepared to pay for in cash. Given all this I still had to have the Camaro. I found only one Camaro in northern California with the mechanical options I wanted and in what I thought was a bearable external and interior leather colors. I could not wait any longer given I had been waiting to get my Mustang 6 years.

Suffice to say it was worth all the trade-offs. I love my 2013 Camaro Coupe. In the two weeks since I bought this car I can not stop myself from grinning every time I see it and drive it. The exterior and interior colors have also quickly grown on me to the point I can't see buying this car in any other way. I get many compliments. Did I mention the handling, its great, really planted in those high speed curves, easier to control than the mustang. Braking is great, very quick and no fade. The dual exhaust note is great, as good if not better than the Mustang GT and definitely looks cooler on the rear end. I love this car. I can't wait for some track days ahead.

No regrets. This was definitely the best car at this point in time.

Thanks. I will post pics as soon as I can. Unfortunatelly a funny but sad story. While cleaning my garage to make room for my new baby I fell off a latter while coming down from my garage attic and tore a ligament in my knee. I'm seeing a specialist tomorrow. It looks like surgery, which means I will be laid up for awhile.

Rob, CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
