"The Grey Eagle" Monstertodd's SS build
I picked up my CGM 2SS/RS M6 with SIM stripes on November 23rd 2009.
I purchased my car from Jimmy Johnson Chevrolet in San Diego, CA. It was a dealer transfer car that was originally ordered by a dealership in New York. It is VIN: 40196. It has the GM badges of excellence, as well as the GM performance division badge under the hood. It does not have back up sensors. Here are some pictures from the day I picked her up. enjoy. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/pictur...ictureid=12312 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/pictur...ictureid=12315 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/pictur...ictureid=12314 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/pictur...ictureid=12313 I've already modified the car somewhat. My first mod was a skip shift eliminator that I bought on Ebay. It's not an SLP unit. I haven't had ANY trouble from it, and it's worked flawlessly. No pictures of the install though sorry. I think I paid $12.95 plus shipping. I'm not planning to do any serious drive train or engine mods, but I do have a laundry list of items I'd like to replace. It's going to be one thing at a time with this car though. Here are a couple of smaller mods that I have performed thus far. DIY foglight mod for RS equipped cars. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/pictur...ictureid=14964 http://www.camaro5.com/forums/pictur...ictureid=14963 To be honest with you, I'm not real impressed with the light output of the fogs after this mod. I used the DIY method which involved soldering zener diodes in-line with the wire harness for the foglights. I'm seriously considering reversing this mod, and purchasing one of the plug and play harnesses. I had SLP SS emblems on my front and rear, removed them and replaced them with Trailblazer SS logo's, and then finally removed those and installed Sparks Restoration SS logo's. Yes I know, they are ridiculously expensive, but in my opinion, completely worth it. The silver stripes look sharp! I was torn between black and silver, but went the black route on my car. Looks like I couldn't have gone wrong either way!

Although, I have put in my order with mike the powder-coater for my brake calipers. I think I'm going to add some red stainless braided brake lines in there as well. And perhaps some slotted rotors at some point. |
