It matches the lower grill and rear valence panel. I am pretty sure this is the stock grill for the ZL1.

Black or painted wheels just look "cheap" to me..kinda like someone taking some rusty or corroded mags and giving them a paint job to get more like out of them. Also there is no contrast with the tire. If we have to have a painted wheel I'd rather see silver painted.

I kind of agree with you for sure on one thing. I like the grille and I don't mind the stripe to bad. I totally agree with you on the black wheels. I have never been a fan of black wheels and the blacked out look. To me that just looks blah! But to each their own. If it is your car, you like the blacked out look and you are paying for it. Well that is fine with me.

That's the grill that should've came with the Camaro stock. None of this eggcrate nonsense :( Damn, you future ZL1 owners will have one sexy looking machine!

Hi,
I took these pictures so let me answer a few questions.
The ZL1 was parked in the lobby of the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
It was on display as part of a 2 day dealer conference (Sept 27 and 28).
The car was lit up with multicolored LED beams from the ground, and the lobby is pretty dark, so it was hard to get decent pics. No, these are not cell phone pics either...just an old camera that produces a lot of lens flare.
I realized after the fact that I did not snap a pic of the interior, but all the windows on this prototype were lightly tinted, so it wasn't easy anyways.

Also present, was the 2012 Chevy Sonic Z-Spec, GMC Granite concept, and the 2012 GMC Sierra Ultimate GFX.

I posted these pics to several Camaro Facebook pages (including Camaro5) ..and Camaroz28.com picked up the story first, and slapped their watermark on it.

Here is a short video of the car!

I have a second, longer video not yet posted too ;-D

Hey Ted, Thanks for the pictures!
Any chance you remember the color of the stitching in the seats and dash? was it red or yellow??? I really hope for a "pick your color" kinda thing (or anything else than red)...

edz10ss 09-30-2011 06:39 PM

ZL1 looks hot in yellow.

Yes Jedi I love this look as well. I hope it will be the standard issue equipment! :)

Yes...it does, but I would like to add I think this awesome machine looks GREAT in any color combination!

I definitely like this grille better. Add the Bumblebee rear quarter vents, color key the front bow tie and move the ZL1 emblem from the hood to front quarter (delete the Camaro emblem) and it's perfect IMO.

Slapped their watermark on it? I am a photographer on the side and boy that would SUPER PI$$ me off if they stole my photos without asking. Let the photographer critics rave here but it is hard getting shots when you can't control the subject or lighting as the photographer and you have limited space and conditions to work in let alone the quality of equipment. We all THANK YOU for just grabbing the shots. THANKS AGAIN!

Vengeance Graphix 10-01-2011 12:11 AM

it looks ok in RY, loving the grill, but the black stripe down the roof and trunk can hit the road.

Wat you talkin bout Willis......Its sweeet....My wife says it would look boring without it :P

Hmmm strange....I picked out a set of $3000 Black wheels, cause I thought chrome wheels look like crap on a Blk/Yellow ZL-1
GM saved me some cash by having Black wheels
P.S. Would of preferred duel stripes...but one big fat one will do nicely!
Im sorry, but how boring would it look without the stripe,Blk wheels and spoiler.:( A big yellow Banana:sm0:

BUMBLE-B-TUNA 10-01-2011 01:52 AM

Looks awesome, especially in the best colour out there!

HashimAzzouz 10-01-2011 03:55 AM

Was it manual or Automatic? anyone knows..

Stingr69 10-01-2011 04:13 AM

I saw a "stripe delete" option in the Camaro builder on GM's web site. They do not explain the option but maybe this is what it is for?

-Mark.

It wasn't the best way to go about it, but I'm not really too mad. I just wanted to get the pics out so all the Camaro enthusiasts could see this thing! :D
Next scoop I get will have my name on it though!

I have a video uploading right now...I will post the link here when its done!:headbang:

Here is a slightly enhanced pic of the grille. I didn't realize (I should have!) that it would cause such a stir!
