Wow, you get shit done. That's quite the home garage tear-down and subsequent build.

The cam specs as specced out for the motor from TSP

LSL lobed 251/259 .661"/.661" 113LSA+3. The slightly wider LSA will kick that exhaust valve event out a bit so we don't have to run quite so much duration on that side and we keep the overlap down a couple degrees, while also making it peak a bit better than a 110LSA or similar. The 110 ICL will do the opposite and make the intake event a bit earlier so we still have nice area under the curve and throttle response in the mid-range.

Short Block tomorrow, heads + cam next week, and a whole lot of assembly and work :) Can't wait

Dig this!

Love seeing somebody with a SECOND 429ci LS3 Blocked Base.

Guaranteed you do it right, you'll be at 610rwhp.

Don't ask me or Andre how I know!

Congrats on the COTW! Badass to get it while you're still building. Keep up the good work and pics.

Pretty much bought the biggest heads that would physically fit, ran the most compression I could possibly run (almost 14:1), with an enormous camshaft, the valvetrain to support it all, and an intake that won't choke it to death with E85 miracle fuel... yeah. She'll get there once she's running again :D

Ovenmitt 10-08-2011 03:21 AM

Up on the stand. Few more pictures from this evening.

Short block looks very nice. Can't wait to see how you do at the track.

Wish there was an E85 pump close by where I am now. I would totally do the same thing compression wise. Maybe when I head back up that way I will.

Ovenmitt 10-08-2011 05:32 PM

Oil pan, motor mounts, flexplate on. Need to get a pair of knock sensors (doh) left mine attached to my old shortblock and shipped them away on accident, oh well.

Any progress is good progress.

Oh im sure they just haven't updated the main page yet. Lots of engine parts should be in this week and next week. Everything to finish the longblock except pushrods (have to measure for length). Stay tuned for lots of pics, & first pics of an actual set of the new small bore ls7 heads from TSP

Brother you are doing one awesome job on that Hot Rod! I plan on starting a similar project around Feb. or so to give me something to do during the break I have planned. The photos of the project have been great and very instructive. I may hit you up for some info when I get started. Again, awesome job !!!

DietCoke 10-15-2011 02:58 PM

Secret squirrel told me Tony Mamo may or may not be busily working on an LS7 fast 102 for this engine as we speak...

DietCoke 10-16-2011 02:18 AM

At approx 1:00 into this video, you can see where the rail needs to be notched for the transmission harness plug. Pretty simple
