GM LS3 billet oil filter?
Do any of the shops that run GM LS3's in the Grand Am or Rolex cup cars run these? I had one on my track bike and it was fantastic for frequent oil changes after weekends at the track.
This one is for a boxter engine but perhaps theres and adapter so it would fit the LS3... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J9VDWTY9RIo |
Actually, K&N recently announced their own at SEMA.

cool - do you have a part number or link for the K&N filter?

I am running the Pure Power oil filter on my Camaro. It is great. The filter element is cleanable and it is loaded with magnets.

Didn't realize the Power pure already came with magnets. I paid $54. for the magnet by itself from jegs. http://www.jegs.com/i/FilterMAG/384/SS375/10002/-1 http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/...ltermagnet.png |
How does the pure power disassemble ? anyone have a video? any design flaws?

interesting. Besides slightly better oil filtering though, i dont see much advantage. At about 10 dollars per oil filter, it would take about 30 oil changes to make up for the cost of this.

looks like a cool filter

So wait, this setup would be better than a traditional filter from say Amsoil or Royal Purple?
|
This setup would be best for those that run a lot of track days and need to change their oil more frequently. Just disassemble the filter and dunk in mineral spirits to clean. These filters actually capture particles at a smaller micron rate as well.
