Tell me about the maintenance of a Z/28..
Assuming the Z/28 will be supercharged, I have a few questions and I suppose you can use experience with a supercharged model versus a non-supercharged model to answer them.
1) would the drive train be different (stronger materials because more power)? 2) which engine will last longer typically? (supercharged or naturally aspirated). I'm assuming stock factory super-charged engines are stronger in the first place? 3) are they much more costly to service? One of the reasons why I won't consider a European sports car is because I don't like the idea of being raped by Hans or Tony every time I need a service. However, if I get a supercharged car am I asking for the same treatment? I suppose the Z/28 will have different bumpers, so if they are ever damaged it will be more costly to replace. But how more is regular maintenance and will the car last as long? Thanks! |

So can I get an oil filter at autozone for my Z28? Do they stock the windshield wipers at WalMart for my Z28? How much is a fill up going to cost on my Z28? Wait... is there even a Z28 at all? :iono: |

sen10l, to answer your question......Look at the Caddy V series, makes over 550 h.p.......GM is NOT going to make a car that will not hold up to the performance/power of its own car. the Caddys use the same oil as that the current SS do from the factory......as far as them lasting longer.....I would be willing to bet it will last just as long, if used within its limits. Not to mention....it will come with a warrentee.

A Z28 is a killer car. There is not a 5th Gen one as of now. It has swapped places over the years with the SS as the top dog Camaro. In Gen 4 the Z28 was the low V8 and the SS was the hot one. If a 5th Gen Z28 is built it will beat a SS.

I am probably the only person who cold care less if they build a Z28. The SS is plenty fast and simple to make faster... |
It's about superchargers and maintenance in general. This is a discussion forum, so let's discuss and talk rather than develop aneurysms about what can and cannot be discussed!
ps. I appreciate the helpful responses. |
