I hope you are right, That will be so nice and save a lot of cold cash...

You should not need a new windshield. It's really more the angle of the projector in relation to the angle of the windshield that allows you to see the reflection. Think of the glare you get off your dash if you use armorall on your dash (I remember many years ago washing my parents car and putting armorall everywhere... talk about a mess...).

The easiest way to tell if GM really did create a special glass for this application is to ask your parts manager that gave you the GM parts diagrams if there is a different part number for the windshield for a 2011 vs a 2010.

Thank you now for the bad news went to dealer and there are new part numbers for the 2011 windshield.

But i think it will work with the windshield we have now, The way i see it if the price was the same for the 2010 windshield and the 2011 then it may be the same windshield.

Got all the low speed bus and high speed bus wiring Schematics. will post up later.

any progress?

First parts are do in some time this week, But the HUD unit is still not out at the parts counter, It takes time for GM to put out the units,

The good thing is with all the wiring Schematics i have it will work.

All that the 2011 windshield does is add clarity to the reflection making it easier to read during the day and brighter at night. Without it, the HUD will look fuzzier than it should, however if you don't know any better, then it should be just fine for you. This project is done a lot in the older Vette's with high success rates. You should have no problems.

This is a cool mod but I would never do it. I have had a couple Corvettes, only one had HUD, the 2000. When I got the 2007 it didn't have it and I didn't care. Its cool but I wouldn't spend any money adding to my '10.

I have a portable HUD in my truck. Here is why you need the windshield. If you don't have the 2011 windshield it will still work but MIGHT show a double image. That is what mine does when reflecting onto the windshield. The reason is you get an image from both sides of the windshield and it looks like 2 images, one on top of the other but offset. Not a deal breaker. I don't understand the problem though. Just go get a new windshield. Problem solved. Thats my plan.

Keep up the good work 2SSRS.
