Rear hatch pull down unit rebuild kit
 

A couple of weeks ago I took my 88 Iroc to a local service station and they accidentially slammed the rear hatch. Of course I know that I could have pushed the issue and made them pay for the repairs, but that is not the point of this thread. I told them that I would handle the rear hatch pull down unit and later found out that GM had discontinued the hatch pull down unit and better yet there were only 10 left in the USA, and they were $465 each!:confused0068: Better yet if the problem was with the motor that would be another $133!:confused0068: After doing some surfing on the internet I found a company that made a great rebuild kit for my 88 Iroc which included everything I needed to rebuild the entire unit including the motor for a very reasonable price of $115 (plus shipping). Installed the kit this weekend and it worked like a charm. Included easy to follow instructions. Details listed below.
