Mufflers/ Exhaust system

hey everyone i got a question on mufflers/ exhaust systems. i looked at many companies such as magnaflow, flowmaster, borla etc.. they have exhaust systems for about $1,000.. but mufflers are lot cheaper and i know mufflers change the way ur car sounds, so do exhaust systems.. so whats the difference??

and can mufflers make my car sound just the way i want it to?

You should check out Revo1. He's my friend here in town and he just cut off both mufflers, resonators and put in an X pipe on his A6. I think he got everything done for like $200 +/- He can link you up to how it sounds.

alot of ppl here like that deep rumble sound or that crackling and im just not into that

i love the camaro in every way, i like my stock exhaust/muffler as well!
but i kinda want my car to have that exotic sound to it...

you really cant customize the way you want your mufflers to sound. but just pick one you like the best. i would just do a muffler delete with a x pipe. like what he said above me

isnt muffler delete illegal? doesnt it take out the smog detector

and is there a list where i can find the mufflers and hear em out?

when i search it, only exhaust systems (whole kits) pop up

As long as you don't touch the Cats, you can do anything you want behind 'em.

You may be correct, even though it's really not that loud. Still, I don't want to tell somebody to break the law....Sooooo, forget everything I was saying in this thread. A nice "Legal" system can probably be had for under $1500.

Yea i wouldnt be worried about being pulled over or anything with a muffler delete.

Don't do muffler delete it sounds like crap. Go with Flowmaster original 40s then after your warranty is up get LT headers. Headers are what give your exhaust the true muscle car sound. That and a lopey cam.

Can't beat a lopey cam and headers for sound

but if you want a cheap fix and keep your warranty a muffler delete ain't bad.

Doll, I don't know when exactly, but at some point we're gonna need to get some sound out of this black thing!

Delete and a nasty cam sounds real nice. Flowmaster is for Pickup trucks with gun racks in the window. Flowmaster=cheese master
