Heatsink fan failed :(

Coolermaster V8 fan died! I'm so mad! My gaming PC is the only thing keeping me distracted while waiting for my Camaro to be built.

If I can't fix it, I may have a mental break down. Hahaha

Zalman 9900 FTW! Been running it for 5 years now... Best of luck on getting back up and gaming.... :chevy:

That stinks. Sorry to hear about that :(

Ouch sorry to hear that. My friend built a pc two years ago and had a V8 in it, not the easiest to install by yourself, it took 3 of us to hold the beast steady and screw into place.

How was the performance on it? What kind of processor was it cooling?

The last rig I built has a CoolerMaster Aquagate Mini-80 that had a recommended lifespan of 2 years. It's been, and I kid you not....6 years!!! Still running strong, only a degree or two warmer on average!

:word:

I love this fan. Only problem is I upgraded my board and processor and it doesnt fit. I keep forgetting to order an adapter to upgrade the POS intel Fan on it now.

Well I built my rig alone. What a pain in the ass! NEVER again will I endore that BS. Next PC will be from DigitalStorm....

Anyway, my system has been stable for about 9 months - 1 year. I can't remember my temps, I think it was about 35c and 55c under load.

I read online that I can remove the fan without taking the whole cooler off the mobo. I do have a spare fan, so we'll see...

I could try to game without the fan, but I can't afford a new PC right now...

well the fan should be replaceable. I had a CPU/heatsink fan fail on one of my PCs. I unplugged it from the motherboard and detached it from the CPU and found a replacement of same size with same plug (the one that connects to the motherboard) and had it installed within a few minutes and I was back in business ;).
