here is a thread with a guy who had flat black full body vinyl wrap. looks really good, and heck of a lot cheaper than paint, and its reversible.

I did my hood, rear spoiler and all remaining emblems in a low gloss satin black. Paint shop said pure flat would show marks really easily (and even the satin as I have it does too).

I like the flat black look, but if you are going to do it go all out, the hood and spoiler just look unfinished with the rest of the car being painted. I would be afraid people would just lump me in with the other car owners that drive around with primer parts. But to each his own and the hood and spoiler look sweet. Love how you still get some shine off the satin.

I'm sure to some it looks unfinished...but I didn't want my car to look like every other silver with stripes...so I went a different way.

THe car below was my 'inspiration'...and I never thought that it looked unfinished.

Have you thought of doing the LS7 rear fascia paint job?
Here is a rough look.

Shine free.

Maintenence wise it would be better to go with the vinyl wrap. As you can just go over it with windex and paper towels come washing time. Flat black paint is harder and more sensitive to wax/cleaners.
