1LE Matte Hood Question

Whats under the matte hood? I'm wanting a black on black and don't like the matte hood. Does anyone know if it's just primered or is it fully painted?

blazzin1 01-05-2013 10:36 PM

fully painted underneath. You can cut and peel the vinyl off the hood.....carefully.

PYROLYSIS 01-05-2013 11:20 PM

The members on here that have removed theirs recommend removing the wrap as soon as possible to make it easier to remove the adhesive.

No cutting required, just peel it....

I had no problems after a 1000 miles.... just some left over glue.... not much at all really.

It looks sexy on a BRM 1LE, I wouldn't do it.

I would be looking down the road what the wrap on the hood will look like. Will it chalk up and have a milky color to it etc. From what I understand the hood wraop is not covered by GM but a seperate warranty. I could be wrong.

Don't do it! The hash marks plus that hood will look amazing! Remember I have to live my 1LE through yours! Lol.

You know what I was thinking. I may get the ZL1 hood wrapped in matte black and get the spoiler painted matte satin black as well just like the 1LE. Now I don't think I've seen that done on a ZL1 and I truly believe that would be sexy.

Oh don't worry , I was agreeing with you. I have no intentions of removing my wrap:thumbup:....I do think it would look badass on your Z to do the hood and spoiler!

I think I may end up doing that.

TRAMTWO - was it hard to get the adhesive off? Any staining? What did you use to remove the adhesive? Still haven't ordered mine yet....and still haven't decided if I will leave on the wrap or take it off.
