Lashway Motorsports - SS 1LE: Bolt Ons, Cam, Dyno tune

Hey everyone!

Here's a video of a Camaro SS 1LE that came to Lashway Motorsports for some goodies: a TSP 235/239 112 LSA Cam, Stainless Works longtube headers, and a custom Lashway Motorsports Dyno Tune by our resident tuner and co-owner Josh Isaacs.

After the customer's vehicle was completed, we took it out for a test drive with the customer in the passenger seat. They couldn't believe how smooth the car drove and how easy it was to drive - even with a big cam like the TSP 235/239!

This Camaro made 497 RWHP on our Mustang Dyno (MD-500) with the custom Lashway Dyno tune.

That's pretty darn high for a Mustang dyno. Was there any head work, intake manifold porting/modifying, etc.? 93 octane I assume?

I'm gonna agree with this and ask what else is done

Yes - 93 octane; no headwork or anything like that, just cam only with bolt ons.

woah, not bad for a cam, tune and bolt ons. I'm about to do mine but im only estimating 470-480whp. you got 497 from headers, cam and a tune only??

Knew it would be a tall number before I even clicked on the thread lol

The SS 1LE's tend to make better power than the normal SS Camaro's due to the 1LE having electric power steering (normal SS has hydraulic power steering).

The 1LE also comes stock with a manual tranny plus some other things that the stock 1LE comes with, which also tends to make better power.

The 1LE is a very strong platform that comes right from GM and makes great power.

Thanks for posting, now I have something to push me into getting a cam for mine. I'm happy with 428 to the wheels now but I'm ready to hit the 500 mark

Not true. Electric power steering is just a year switch and has nothing to do with being a 1le.

Not only that, but it sure looks like a 2013

Dyno numbers are just numbers, lets not get hung up on them. I had my car at Lashway last week, great people, great shop. The Mustang Dyno they use calibrates to the atmosphere and tries to standardize the power output depending on certain variables, such as temp, humidity, etc. I doubt the 497 RWHP is a "true" power output. So, in hot and humid South Florida, the dyno is increasing the output by some multiple that it deems appropriate.

However, that certainly doesn't mean that car is not a beast and doesn't run strong. I'm sure it is awesome to drive! It's always tough to know how a dyno is reading without a baseline run prior to adding the mods. The baseline run could have been 425 RWHP stock for all we know, and then up to 497 RWHP after the cam, headers, etc.

Just saying...chasing and/or comparing dyno numbers is stupid IMO. Unless you are comparing apples to apples, which is virtually impossible when talking dyno numbers.

Bragging about inflated dyno numbers and stating false stats about the 5th gen. I'm sure they're a great shop, but come on.
