Camaro T-Tops from Droptop Customs

As featured on CAMARO5 HOMEPAGE.
After many, many, many request, we have decided to prototype T-Tops for the new Camaro. As you can see from the picture, we have already cut out the first pair. Cutting is the easy part! We are contemplating metal, glass or carbon fiber. Let me know what you think? Help us decide. |
OH BOY!
Keep us updated with pictures! :Dp |
Maybe having to wait will pay off for me.....t-tops were the one option I felt the GM version was missing....
I can't wait to see how this one comes out..... Thanks for the great work, keep us posted. |
That will look great. I need some of those. I think the tinted glass would be really nice.

Very nice :)

Smoked glass is the only way to go. What will that do to the safety and the rigidity of the car? Did you do any testing in these areas?
|
Glass for sure! how much?
|
Will the true hardtop- (no "B" post) be the next A/mkt mod ? I hope so.

Oh man, the t-tops live again!! I missed those so much in my 95 Z28. This I believe is the first instance I've seen of anyone putting in t-tops in the 2010s! Can't wait to see the final product, definitely with smoked glass. I think that t-tops fit the Camaro's image more than the sunroof. Now, will a t-tops holder be fabricated in the trunk somehow?
 |
How difficult would it be to do this to a car that has the sunroof?
Obviously the sunroof and all associated hardware would be removed, but do y'all think having the sunroof from the factory would mean the roof has more bracing in it that might aid in the support of a t-top, or does it just simply mean the geometry is slightly different and would require a new piece of sheet metal welded in to form the middle bar? |
Looking good, guys! Can't wait to see the final product.
I say smoked glass just like the 4th gens. That worked out nicely before. |
HOT DAMN! T-TOPS!!!!!!! If that is doable I'm gonna want this set up! And I agree with the guys.. Smoked glass.
